Project management and delivery:
• Efficient and effective delivery of project activities in line with the EU and British Council standards.
• Be responsible for the planning, implementation and quality control of the agreed set of the Aswat Faeela project activities in Jordan and other projects
• Be responsible for procuring and managing internal and external resources for activities in Jordan.
• Contribute as required to the overall project design and delivery, in collaboration with the Project Director, Team Leader and project team including consortium partners, and with British Council regional colleagues and in the UK.
• Identify opportunities to support the British Council’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) policy, and considers all seven areas of the EDI framework in planning and implementation of programme and project activities.

Client, stakeholders and relationship management:

• Communicate change requests and initiate ad-hoc project review discussions, feeding back to Team Leader to support planning and delivery in Jordan.
•Maintain and foster links with professionals and organisation, communities in Jordan and share relevant information with the Team Leader and project team.
• Contribute operationally towards building positive relationships with partners and key stakeholders through participation in meetings in accordance with strategic direction. Key relationships will include institutional donors (DFID, EU, FCO, USAID), UN Agencies and INGOs working on Syria Response on a multicountry basis. May include participation in the country and sector level working groups that coordinate the international Syria response.

Monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning:

• Ensure all aspects of the Aswat Faeela project and other projects in Jordan have a monitoring process embedded, that evaluations are conducted in line with the projects requirements and that lessons learned both feed into ongoing projects design and delivery and are more widely disseminated through agreed channels.
• Produce regular reports on projects activities and finances in Jordan- on a regular basis to the Team Leader.
• participate in wider project progress reporting meetings with Team Leader and the project team and partners.
• Provide feedback and contribute to drafting of major financial and technical reports to client and the Steering Committee.
• Act as a focal point in collecting activity data and information related to British Council Syria Response in Jordan; and regularly contribute to Syria Response newsletter.

Risk and compliance:

• Ensure that risks are identified and monitored in Jordan and agree actions to address risks. Escalate risks to Team Leader as appropriate.
• Ensure that the project in Jordan meets all relevant internal and external compliance and requirements (financial, HR, quality management, procurement, security etc.).

Financial and budget management:

• Plan, forecast and monitor spending in line with agreed projects budget and expenditure in Jordan including record keeping, e.g. petty cash.
• Provide consistent and effective support to the management in all aspects of the project’s finances, ensuring rigorous financial control and transparent audit trails, in line with the British Council and client requirements, relevant procedures and standards.

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at Save the Children - Jordan
