Ensures, whilst handling dangerous, inflammable or toxic materials that the strictest safety standards are complied with by Company. Administering the store activities, both incoming & outgoing, independently and supervising unloading of equipment. Managing stores/warehouse operations, ensuring optimum inventory levels to achieve maximum cost savings without hampering the process. Preparing and finalizing of claims for loss or damage of store while in transit. Checks that the storage and protection of materials are in accordance with specific requirement determined by the Company regulations/ Manufacturer’s instructions or specific procedures for the protection and preservations of materials. Ensures that sensitive or volatile materials are stored in temperature controlled storage areas that locations are logged in the computer and that, where applicable, details of receipt and expiry dates of materials are indicated. Ensure that the items returned to store are with correct part numbers/ identification labels, undamaged condition and technically inspected by the concerned person before action.
Controls and participates in the receipt, storage, issue, dispatch and safe custody of equipment, spare parts, and consumable items stored in warehouse. Ensures that materials are received in accordance with purchase orders, raises report for short landed or damaged materials, checks that sensitive materials are protected according to specific procedures, arranges technical inspection and repair work on returned materials and ensures mandatory safety codes are complied with.
Receives copies of purchase orders for equipment, spare parts and consumables prior to arrival. Forecasts requirement for storage space and facilities such as shelves, boxes, bins, timber pallets etc. and makes necessary preparations for receipt.
Monitors and participate in the receipt, identification and checking of all spare parts. Check receipts in the presence of a suppliers representative, raises and sign reports for shot landed or damaged materials, attaches for further action follow-up and where technical receiving is required, informs the concerned department to arrange for prompt inspection.
Controls the issue of materials and spare parts to the authorized personnel in accordance with store issue vouchers. Interacting with customers, resolving customers’ issues, obtaining their feedback and monitoring activities. Keeping a record that all departments follow through an efficient ordering system to maintain optimum stock levels. Supervises and participates in the return of materials from various departments to the warehouse. Ensures that materials are checked and, where necessary, technically inspected to identify damaged materials. Ensuring that all the employees are disciplined and adhere to the stores disciplinary policies
Successfully completed a course of instruction on the logistic management and inventory for 52 weeks at Administrative Training Institute, Air Force Belgaum, India. Equipment organization and administration, maintenance and safe custody of different range of stores e.g. Clothing, barrack, Ration, fuel, Oil and Lubricants and technical stores of different range e.g. Aero engine, Air Frame, Instruments, Electrical, Radio, Radar, Photographic equipment’s, Mechanical transport spares, Gases, Rubberized store and Explosives. Maintenance of stock location, records and documents leading to proper accounting, review and audit and provisioning at different levels. Inventory control like fixing re-order levels, setting Short Stock figure, maximum and minimum stock levels and Safety stock. Purchase and procurement of various stores from indigenous sources including purchase from local market at competitive prices.
Worked with Indian Air Force logistics department for 15 years from 30th May 1978 to 31st May 1993
