• Responsible to support services related to legal, safety, environmental, and health etc.
• Help to design, implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs and associated quality assurance policies and regulations.
• Responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions.
• Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards.
• Trains employees on safety policies, procedures and regulations.
• Responsible to ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
• Participates in Occupational Safety and Health inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures.
• Maintains corporate automated security system and employee identification card system; conducts inspections of work area and equipment for compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Leading in-house training with managers and employees on health and safety issues and risks;
• Keeping records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements;
• Leading in incident investigation, recording of incidents and accidents and producing statistics;
• Interfaces and negotiates with regulatory bodies, clients and subcontractors.
• Implementing an Interface Register to record, monitor, and track interfaces and status updates
• Early identification of Interface Points
• Responsible for executing the processes that directly impact training, report writing, quality control, plan development and implementation.
• Incorporates health standards directed by regulatory agencies to prevent hazards and diseases from work sites.
• Responsible in the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to team members.
• Participates in the development of functional strategy and may be responsible for global processes and procedures
• Responsible for coordination of Permit To Work System and ensuring that standard stipulated for every work activity is adhered to.
• Maintaining a data base for tracking of all action points arising from near misses, Unsafe act/ condition, security lapses, potential HSES hazards and audits and communicate same to work force as learning points
• Development, implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety and Environmental Management System\{HSE-MS\} for productive operations
• Development, implementation and monitoring of emergency response system
• Record, documentation, investigation and reporting of HSE activities
• Organizing toolbox talk before commencement of any job
• Monitoring employees compliance with statutory and client safety rules and regulations
• Assisting in the implementation of procedures and rules as required
• Directly responsible to HSE Manager in all sites HSE matters
• Organizing toolbox meeting every morning before commencement of work.
• Visit all project sites regularly
• Collate all daily sites HSE reports and send same to HSE Manger not later than 48 hours
• Monitoring employees compliance with statutory and clients safety rules and regulations
• Organizing safety meeting weekly and inform workforce date of monthly CASHES meeting
• Responsible for the induction/orientation of new employees and site visitors as may be necessary
• Assisting in the implementation of procedures and rules as required
• Monitoring subcontractors in implementation of HSE Plan.
• Maintaining a database for tracking of all action points arising from Near-misses, UA/UC, security lapses, potential CASHES hazards and audits and communicate same to workforce as learning points and same to HSE Manager within 48 hours for a follow up and close out.
