I handle key accounts and look after the shipping and logistics requirements for Bloomingdales, Fendi, Mama’s & Papa’s, Armani Exchange, and some joint ventures like Prada to name a few. The coordination includes arranging the shipments overseas to Dubai, organization of shipping documents, and negotiating for best freight rates with different freight forwarders.

I have been given several projects to lead in logistics department and have been recently tasked to lead and facilitate the training for the logistics team.

I work hand in hand with different teams, leading and supporting whenever and as required. This includes coordination and meeting our brands, stores and suppliers requirements ensuring we satisfy the customer needs.

Key Achievements:
 Lead the project in US shipment consolidation. I gathered all the data and other cost related and had negotiated with our freight forwarder on the best freight rates, reasonable transit times and best service possible to collect from our different US suppliers all over Central, East and West Coasts. These are all consolidated and loaded in a full container load which has resulted in improved customer service and savings in the cost of transportation.

 Teamwork and my close coordination to all involved and making sure I cover all the requirements had played a key role in the successful product launches of Al Tayer Group luxury, fashion, home and lifestyle brands.

 Helped improve the warehouse productivity by over 10% through on-site training assistance; and have covered a successful 4-mandays of training for financial year 2013/14 by leading the logistics training team.

 Spearheaded the pre-retailing processes for Armani Exchange overseas via our contractor in Hong Kong. I’ve successfully negotiated for the best service rates and have carefully implemented the first phase last September 2014 in Kowloon, Hong Kong. This process has improved our Dubai warehouse operations by 20%.

I’d been part of Phildansk International, a buying agent, handling both merchandising, shipping and planning from 1999 to 2009 and worked with major clienteles from US and Australia like Crate and Barrel, Sarreid Ltd. from US and Freedom Furniture from Australia. This work experience has helped me gain my expertise in shipping and logistics and practiced good customer relations to our vendors, suppliers and principals alike.

 Communicate with foreign principals on product’s prices, quantity, warranty, and other matters through meetings, emails and teleconferences.
 Check the products at the factory level before delivering to its designated clients.
 Attend local and international furniture and houseware trade shows to source for new products and new suppliers.
 Prepare merchandising presentation on a per product category per season.

 Key responsible for the entire shipping and planning of the major clienteles while supervising a small group of staffs.
