I am a Medical surgical nurse and registered nurse given care specifically for patients who haveundergone surgery or are preparing to undergo surgery. T I I can give care and long-term care facilities. If Patients can undergoing surgery often feel physically for patients with acute health conditions which require some form of surgical intervention, such as a tracheotomy, feeding tube or IV unit. I I can work in a variety of health care settings, including hospitals, outpatient facilities and emotionally vulnerable; communicate with surgical patients to make them feelsafe and confident. I can possess training in special techniques and treatments necessary to properly care for surgical wounds and address postsurgical pain. I complete assignments made by physicians, provide routine treatment and provide post-surgical care such as wound care. In additions to assess changes in patient's health status and perform various treatments. I am responsible for medication administration and all other routine aspects of patient care. Routine vital sign checks, changes in status, continence issues, diets and even visitors are documented in the patient's chart.Prepare the patient for various investigations like Ultra Sound, Echo, CT scan, MRI, Endoscopy, etc. Educate patient and family about the disease and prognosis of the patient. Collect specimens including sputum, stool, urine and send it for medical analysis to laboratory. Analyse test results from various departments and record it properly. Assist doctors during treatment. Monitor, analyse and record urine and stool output. Provide frequent patient evaluations including monitoring vital signs and perform essential procedures.The types of procedures including pain mangement, tracheostomy care, burn and incision care, catheters, IV tubes and drains. The types of equipment used ECG Machine, Syringe pump, Ambu bag, laryngoscope, Oxygen cylinder and all equipments

My responsiblities in the Surgical ward to provide care to individuals before, during and after a surgical procedure. There are several different types of surgical nursing, each of which carries unique responsibilities. I am Surgical nurse provide direct patient care to individuals in the pre-surgical, operative and recovery periods. I can expect to work long hours under stressful conditions, and are required to be on their feet for extensive periods of time. I can be employed by free-standing surgery clinics, hospital trauma or emergency centers, and hospital surgical suites. Some of the characteristics of successful include attention to detail, patience and compassion for patients and the ability to work well within a team environment. Monitor and report vital signs and medical information of the Patient . Prepare the patient and equipments for various procedures and assist the Surgeon. Prepare and administer medications (Oral, IV and SC) as per prescription .Collect specimens such as blood, sputum, stool and urine, order and record laboratory results.Provide Oxygen therapy and secretion suctions if needed .Monitor any untoward reactions of patient and report to the surgeon. Provide basic bedside care for Pre and Post surgical patients. Use universal aseptic techniques during wound care and dressings. Provide psychological support to the patient and relatives and educate how to manage their wound/injury. Participate in various training programs and seminars for registered nurse The types of procedure including dressing care, whether on wounds, surgical incisions, severe burns.
