GATE – 2018, Organized by IIT Guwahati , Gate score : 479 (Qualified) GATE Scholarship from MHRD, India during M.Tech (2019-21) Project: Static performance parameter enhancement of misalinged hydrodynamic journal bearing by using surface waviness. For obtaining the static parameters of hydrodynamic journal bearing, Reynolds equation solved by finite element method and thus pressure distribution obtained. The static characteristics viz. Load carrying capacity and Coefficient of friction examined at different waviness variables and compared with misaligned journal bearing without surface waviness. The performance enhancement ratio is highest for bearing with mix waviness at eccentricity ratio of 0.8, circumferential waviness number n is 5, axial waviness number m is 2 and dimensionless waviness amplitude is 0.075.
