Overview:
The position was generated as part of the new private equity shareholders strategic plan. The role was strongly focused around generating new technology revenue streams. Corporate governance played a big role as the company was being positioned for an offshore acquisition. The position incorporated gearing the IT team in terms of knowledge sharing and streamlining current systems and processes.

Duties:
■ Responsible for controlling the technological resources of RTT, strong focus on creating a unique market differentiation related to IT Innovation offerings to clients within the RTT client base
■ Understanding the business requirements, developing the ICT strategy and budgetary information to support the requirements
■ Introducing an informed vision of how ICT strategy could support transformational change by horizon scanning and strategic planning
■ Management and planning of ICT including policy & practice development, planning, budgeting, resourcing and training
■ Developing IT security strategy that included vulnerability, denial of service and penetrating testing elements
■ Review and optimise companywide MPLS network with relation to cost vs redundancy parameters
■ Optimise group Microsoft Enterprise Agreement
■ Providing technology leadership and ensuring there is coherence amongst the various IT departments and organisational stakeholders
■ Implementation of IT governance structures and development of subsequent policies and procedures (COBIT & KING III)

Achievements:
■ Successfully innovated and implement an end to end parcel tracking mobile application, increasing RTT’s technology capabilities and ensuring optimal customer retention

■ Implemented IT project office to ensure governance compliance throughout SDLC
■ Restructured MPLS configuration to deliver improved redundancy and a reduced TCO

Overview:
Riskworks was originally formed as a technology vertical supporting NOSA, I was responsible for setting up the information technology team and structures. There was a strong focus on new product development, specifically towards multilingual applications that could serve international markets. Subsequently from a MicroMega strategic board decision I was moved to NOSA Global Holdings as the CIO. I was tasked with aligning NOSA with the group IT strategy and ensuring compliance as per relevant JSE governance structures.

Duties:
Nosa - Chief Information Officer:
■ Provide advice and assistance to stakeholders on IT acquisition and management
■ Develop, maintain, and facilitate implementation of a sound and integrated IT architecture
■ Architecture and design of new technology products related to the occupational health and safety industry
■ Strong focus on analytical preparation of potential growth opportunities as well as the subsequent support and monitoring of existing projects. With a key emphasis on multinational organisations with business interests in developing markets
■ Managing IT governance strategy and compliance

Achievements:
■ Established a full end-to-end NOSA Technologies team and division that successfully executed high level IT strategies and compliance requirements
■ Reduced training coordinator payroll by 40% through the development and implementation of internal operations management system
■ Automated full audit suite (NOSA 5-star system, ISO 9000, OSHAS 18000, ISO 14000), transferring entire vertical to an electronic tablet platform
