As a Recorder Operations Support Engineer, I am responsible for maintaining the Recording Infrastructure services in both production and pre-production environments. Working as part of a 24x7 team, my role involves assisting with upgrades, troubleshooting, monitoring, reporting, and overall improvement of the cloud-based Recording Infrastructure.
• Demonstrated expertise in configuring, troubleshooting, and analyzing Tomcat and/or Websphere Application servers.
• Experienced in monitoring and conducting health-checks of web and application server environments.
• Responsible for provisioning and packaging UNIX runtime environments for institutional applications.
• Configured environments to meet client specifications and delivered code from test to production runtime environments using various tools and applications.
• Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and integrity of a distributed, networked AIX-based environment.
• Configured and administered NIM server and NIM client.
• Applied software maintenance, program fixes, and kept the system software releases current.
• Built Linux Compute Nodes using automated scripts (Kickstart scripts) and NFS server.
• Performed building of Linux/AIX servers, deployment activities, and environment support including installation, configuration, diagnostics, planning, and upgrades.
• Experienced in installing, configuring, administrating, troubleshooting, tuning, securing, backing up, recovering, and upgrading IBM AIX 5.3/6.1/7.1 versions.
• Responsible for designing and implementing IT infrastructure such as data center, servers, storage, backup, and virtualization.
• Created Logical Partitions for VIO Servers and VIO Clients on p-Series frames and assigned processors, memory, and Ethernet adapters to VIOS. Also, assigned memory and processors to VIOC (LPARs).
• Created Ether Channel by aggregating two physical NICs.
• Allocated all SAN LUNs to VIOS, which were then virtually allocated to client LPARs (VIOCs) by creating Virtual Disks/Virtual Target Devices (VTD) as per the disk requirement of each client LPAR (VIOC).
• Used HMC-7 to manage VIOS and VIOC partitions.
• Responsible for installation, configuration management, maintenance, and development of AIX systems.
• Worked with IBM p-Series p520, p550, 590 & IBM Blade servers.
• Involved in capacity planning, building servers from scratch, and testing environments before gearing up for development.
• Responsible for Installation, Configuration Management, Maintenance and Systems Development of AIX Systems.
• Provided remote technical support for the AIX software team.
• Responsible for determining hardware and compatibility requirements for installation of application software and different tools.
• Performance Management & Tuning of AIX UNIX Kernel.
• Developed Shell scripts (Korn/Bourne) for automating the batch jobs.
