Carry out preventive maintenance to protect computer systems from internal and external hazards and provide security by ensuring the availability, integrity and confidentiality of Prisons LAN/WAN networks.
•Provide operational IT support, handle up 3rd line Help Desk IT Support; attend to end-users' requests and problems.
•Organise support, troubleshoot, and repair for IT equipment and networks
•Monitor online security for users and networks and take appropriate steps to address security breaches if necessary
•Coordinate IT support staff, including education and training.
•Coordinate training and orientation for new technology users and help them become familiar with equipment and networks
•Ensure all users benefit from effective technology and efficient Internet access, and continually assesse needs and requirements
•Establish relationships with technology and component vendors
•Develop and maintain emergency plans to address equipment, power, or security failure to ensure preservation of technology and data
•Research to learn about innovative solutions and new releases
•Attend and present at trade shows and technology showcases to remain up-to-date regarding new developments
•Offer specialised expertise in IT demands for a particular departments.
•Assist in preparing training material and provide training to end users on basic computer operations and technology whenever introduced.
•Maintain and troubleshoot all hardware problems in computer desktop, laptop and server systems, printer, UPS, Scanner, and other computer related equipment.
•Liaise with external companies for repair and maintenance of equipment that cannot be handled in house.
•In liaison with OIC-IT, to provide proactive support for other Prison stations nationwide during maintenance and upgrade as well as project implementations.
•Acted in the absence of my head of department and Perform General Prison duties and any other assignments assigned by the Service.
• Supervise and participates in inspections of facilities, periodically monitors a reporting system for facilities; uphold security procedures.
•Participates in providing security for all occupants and facilities; Prevents unauthorized visitors to facilities.
• Served on various committees / investigation panels as assigned.
•Upon request, liaison with personnel of other security agencies in national assignments.
•Prepares reports and assists in special assignments as directed.
