Duties and Responsibilities in Station:
▪ Full supervision for the construction of Civil & Structural works on
Station such as Excavation and RC structure in accordance with
Project Specification, drawings & relevant Building Control Acts &
Regulations;
▪ Ensure construction procedures, contractors quality performance of
works & witness hold points as executed in the approved ITP such as
welding test (MPI & UT), pull-out test, rebar materials test & torque test
for Structural & Architectural Works;
▪ Full supervision on RC Structure casting works such as base slab, walls
& roof slab for Link way & Entrances parapet walls;

▪ Checked falseworks & formworks (as per PE design) on roof slab & RC
walls prior to casting;
▪ Supervised diversion road deck slab cutting, backfilling works and pre-
mix application works;
▪ Supervised RC wall wire saw cutting works at interface of Link way;
▪ Monitor the concrete grade, slump test & temperature prior to casting;
▪ Observed site safety work procedures & substandard practice/
noncompliance to notify to RE & relevant Safety personnel;
▪ Assist RE to prepare a list of defects of any completed works;
▪ Maintain daily site report & site dairy for smooth work co-ordination.
• Assist on the implementation of Safety work practice and Environmental site
conditions;

Tampines East Station & Upper Changi Station
Duties and Responsibilities in Bored Tunneling (Bukit Panjang/Expo Bound):
• Full supervision on EPB Tunnel Boring Machine on Bukit Panjang/Expo bound
(excavation & ring building);
- Monitor TBM design parameters as to face pressure, max. thrust force,
advance speed, max. cutter head torque, cutter head rotation speed,
horizontal/vertical deviation from DTA (TBM head), articulation angle
(horizontal/vertical), target primary grout volume, max. grout pressure.
- During mining or excavation of TBM to check the actual volume of soil
being excavated to the theoretical volume; thus for every 1.4m shoved
approximately 5 nos. of skips;
- Monitoring the alignment of TBM with a tolerance +/-50mm & +/-20mm for
plumb & square;
- Before ring building have to checked & record segment serial nos. and
surface for any cracks or damage;
- Checked the lips & steps with 5mm tolerance and checked if any damage
during ring building and proper tightening of the segment bolt;
- Checked primary grouting theoretical volume & pressure for every rings;
- Cutter head intervention (CHI) works:
▪ Checked QPD recommendation prior to CHI work: (free air or
compress air)
▪ Liaise with tunnel engineer/geologist face log and cutter rollers
condition; monitor required chamber working pressure,
compress air worker conditions & activities inside chamber
• Full supervision on the Construction of cross-passage & tunnel sump pit
(excavation, rebars & concrete casting works)
- Before excavation works on cross-passage, conduct probe drilling to assess
the ground condition & existence of ground water.
- Stitch coring and removal of top heading segment.
- Manually excavate on top heading as per design sequence and installations
of lattes girder & BRC as per approved drawing; casting shotcrete as to
required thickness and Grade of concrete after every top heading
sequence has been done.
- For the benching excavation; to removed/hacked the lower part of the
segment & excavate lower bench to required level and installations of
lattes girder & BRC as per approved drawing; apply shotcreting as to
required thickness and Grade of concrete after every benching sequence
has been done.
- During structural works, checked rebar spacing as per design drawing;
- Checked formwork verticality for wall & propping supports (wall & roof
slab) as per PE design.
- Casting with Grade45 w/ CALTITE on base slab, walls & roof slab.
• Full supervision on first stage casting on tunnel invert;

Responsible for general on-site technical engineering matters;
• In-charge in the Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) and Jet Grouting Pile (JGP) works;
• Full supervision in the Excavation and Strutting Works (15 meters depth by 24-50
meters width);

Full supervision in the Steel Decking Works for road diversion to KPE;
• Full supervision in the utilities structural support for Water line. Drain pipe & LV cables
at ECP-KPE tunnel affected on excavation works;
• In-charge in the casting of Lean Concrete for main tunnel structure and Backfilling
works (LSS-Liquefied Soil Stabilization and Graded Stone);
• Coordinate with sub-con and consultant in conducting inspections;
• Prepare daily progress report;
• Brief sub-contractor on safety issues during their daily toolbox meeting;
• Perform other duties such as a Confined Space Assessor, conduct gas check on the
tunnel before start work;
• Coordinate with the instrument sub-contractor in the installation of instruments on
the proposed tunnel before start of excavation works.

- Tunnel inverts must be free from dust, oil stain, damaged segment edges,
and water leaking before casting.
- Checked self adhesive tapes that covers the inverts groove that is properly
done without bubbles.
- Casting with Grade 35 pump mix; slump & concrete temperature checked.
