Part of Production Support DBA team for Investment Managers, a team of 3 jointly responsible for daily administration activities in a 24/7 mission critical applications like Life insurance and Transaction processing. Project involves Monitoring, Database administration and Supporting 12 Sybase Servers. Refreshing environments. Monitoring production batches, attending job failures and subsequently fixing problems. Preparing impact analysis about the changes. Coordinating major production releases. Coordinating weekend maintenance activities and checking database integrity, index rebuilds. Coordinating with UNIX, Infrastructure and Network/Application teams for Power up/Power down activities and OS upgrades, BCP tests. Adding logins, users and groups. Granting permissions to groups and users. Setting and modifying passwords. Creating and configuring new databases. Implementing password change policies and security management. Ensure the databases are up and running, ensure SLA’s are met, provide day to day support reduce no. of production problems and execute enhancements
