I am currently part of a medical training programme teaching the UAE military medical skills, including Battlefield First Aid, CPR, (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and AED, (automated external defibrillator). In my current role, I have to follow a set training curriculum to ensure all skills are taught effectively. I assess students to ensure that they have good understanding of concepts and skills. I must keep records of all students that attended and passed the course. To date we have trained upwards of twenty eight thousand soldiers.
I was working in Abu Dhabi as part of a Military based programme as a Life Skills Instructor. I work in the male high schools delivering lessons on various life skill topics. The topics include team building, communication skills, problem solving, and first aid. I also assist with weapon handling skills and military drill on a daily basis, as well as, other military skills. I am responsible for keeping notes on lesson planning on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. I completed assessment tasks to show the students’ progress and the records were filed in an organised system. I was also involved in the writing of the First Aid Curriculum, which was delivered in many schools across Abu Dhabi. During my time with Al Shaheen. I have undertook a civilian course on teaching First Aid which I passed successfully.
• During my 10years service in the British Army, I undertook various courses, which provided me with lifelong skills in the Security/Military field. I undertook my Junior Non Commissioned Officers Course. This course taught me how to command troops in the field and on operations. I was taught how to launch attacks on the enemy, issue orders to troops to defend positions and manage the wellbeing of the troops under my command. I also trained in how to give classroom lessons on various issues from First Aid to Mission briefings. I completed this course and returned to my Regiment as a full Corporal.
