Business Development Engineer
Identify and research construction market trends to ensure up-to-date market intelligence and predict competitive growth initiatives. Partner with suppliers, contractors and clients to further expand organization’s areas through organic growth, joint ventures, and other creative business offerings. Monitor construction performance and report to client via progress meetings.
• Built relationships with local and international partners and participated in tenders in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Albania, among others.
• Created and maintained a customer managed relationships database of companies in the contracting, education and health sectors.
• Aggressively sought new business by creating marketing material and networking through Expos, Chamber of Commerce meetings, Ministry of Public works networking sessions and researching strategic partners.

Develop and design biosensors and manufacturing process from concept and proof of principles to specifications and implementation in a San Francisco Bay Area company developing a breakthrough sensor technology for therapeutic discovery applications. Develop and optimize methods for modification and functionalization of biosensor surfaces. Perform work in a clean room setting assisting in fabrication and qualification of novel biosensors.
• Led device fabrication team in the design and implementation of FET biosensors via standard semiconductor tools in cleanroom.
• Performed electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties analysis for semiconductor, using thin film metrology tools such as SEM, AFM, 4-point probe resistance measurements, Raman spectroscopy.
• Provided process development and applications support for graphene-based biosensing technology (improved wafer yield to 90%)
• Developed beta software for biosensing platform using C, Python and LabView (real-time data display, analysis and baseline corrections for further binding kinetics analysis)
• Collaborated closely with a customer to fine-tune binding assays, improve biosensor sensitivity and prototype bench-top tool.
• Assisted with the decision-making process on project to meet deliverables deadlines.
• Established new customer relations with Genentech, Amgen Research, Pfizer, and others.
Lead research efforts in carbon thin films synthesis and characterization for semiconductor, optical and biological applications.
• Successfully identified graphene growth process improvements that increased film uniformity, reduced graphene transfer defects and reduced intensive inspection process.
• Collaborated with other R&D labs in areas of graphene growth and characterization techniques and graphene based semiconductors.
• Conducted graphene nanopatterning research (sub-20nm) for transistors (band-gap) applications via block copolymer and laser methods.
• Trained fellow scientists in multiple lab equipment.
• Drafted and submitted grant proposal to the National Institute of Health (NIH) for further funding of the project.
• Communicated with faculty, students and alumni (in person, phone and social media)
to provide step-by-step guidance in resolving technical computer-related problems
