• Respond to all breakdowns.
• Following regulations on Health and Safety at work at all times.
• Learn processes of the factory in papermaking.
• Working independently as the only shift engineer on the team at any given time.
• Working on heavy machinery and explosive environments (Water Treatment Plant).
• Work on electrical control systems, supplies and more.
• PLCs: fault finding using TIA and S7 programs.
• Relay/contactor logic: fault finding, testing and modification.
• Electrical installation.
• Electrical testing and maintenance.
• Overall TPM/PPM.
• Signing work orders for personnel such as contractors and day engineers.
• Performing and being responsible for all isolations and tag outs.
• Following the correct company policy isolation procedure.
• Managing contractors and day engineers on shutdowns, signing their work orders, performing the isolations required for each work order task and assisting with any issues they have using my expertise.
• Management of Confined Spaces: creating confined space permits, performing the related isolations and testing (such as entry gas testing) related to them, then signing on the related personnel.
• Pneumatic maintenance (such as pneumatically driven pumps/valves).
• Pneumatic isolations and tag outs.
• Mechanical maintenance including hydraulics, and general mechanical systems.
• Testing and recording heat using laser thermometers and thermal cameras.
• Moderating and recording oil levels for all hydraulic systems.
• Fault finding and repair on hydraulic systems.
• Selecting, transporting and replacing hydraulic oil barrels for various hydraulic systems.
• Routinely checking machinery to ensure systems are running.
• Reporting in detail at the end of each shift, the breakdowns, remedial work, routines and anything else related to the job.
• Attend and see to all breakdowns when called.
• Following regulations on Health and Safety at work at all times.
• Learn processes of the factory inside out (metal production).
• Work on heavy machinery, including a metal foundry.
• Work on electrical control systems and more.
• PLCs: fault finding, programming and modifying using TIA and S7 programs.
• Relay/contactor logic: understanding it, fault finding, testing and modifying.
• Electrical installation: Motors AC/DC, contactors, timers, PLCs like S1500, plugs/sockets, domestic circuits, 1 to 3 phase, AC/DC, control panels etc.
• Electrical testing and maintenance.
• Overall TPM/PPM.
• Electrical projects (panel building, programming, continuous improvement).
• Some pneumatic maintenance and installation (such as pneumatic pumps/valves).
• Some mechanical maintenance when it was electromechanical.
• Electrically bias role.
• The ability to operate cranes of up to 10 tons SWL.
• Reporting each shift throughout, on Excel, including breakdowns and downtimes.
• Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager with all breakdowns, then the methodology of rectification, including any modifications made.
NVQ Level 3 in Mechatronics Maintenance.
