* Working with the workface planning & Cost control dept. to develop Construction work packages and the
quantity tracking system data base and entering all baseline piping components.
* Field inspection / tracking of all piping installed and entering into database for progress reporting.
Cenovus Energy, Christina Lake Commercial Plant, (SAGD) Phase F Expansion Project
* As part of the Cenovus construction management team participated in facility construction including planning,
scheduling, estimating, coordination and inspection primarily of the cogeneration area, as well as all other
process areas of the plant and inspection of vendor packages
* Managing and coordinating project work with vendors Engineering Contractor and mechanical contractors through
change management system to resolve and close piping, mechanical, and structural issues.
* Evaluate sub-contractors requests for extra work and interface with contract admin to complete change order
estimates to contract, coordinate with QA/QC team to initiate nonconformance reports, responsible for all
redline mark-ups to master documents as-builds and quantity tracking.
* Responsible for project piping change management through RFI’S, FCN’S, field sketches, and liaison with Home
Office as required for design / material issues.
Cenovus Foster Creek Commercial Phase J Expansion for In-situ Oil sands extraction SAG-D ($900 Million)
* Manage and oversee with hands on approach area piping design leads and designers, ensure design
preparedness for client 3-D Model reviews, mentoring of more junior designers, prepare & review employee
appraisals.
* Provide technical input on constructability, maintainability, and operability and participate in front end Plot Plan
equipment placement, piping design and templating strategy for modular design & construction.
* Reporting to Project manager and engineers for progress updating, develop man hour & manpower loading
requirements, maintaining schedule, attend project meetings, interface with Client engineers/operations and
other engineering discipline leads as required. Writing reports e.g. lessons learned, meeting minutes.
* Provide technical support to the construction management team; resolve all field RFI’S, FCN’S, delegate work to
responsible disciplines and close out all outstanding items.
Firebag Stage 3+ Central facility and Well Pads for In-situ Oil sands extraction SAG-D ($3.4 Billion)
* Field inspection QA/QC of all piping installations, liaison with home office engineers, resolve contractor RFI’S,
DCN’S, & FCN’S, assisted in mentoring a team of more junior coordinators.
* Coordination and witnessing of hydro and pneumatic tests, inspection of vendor packages and modules, work
with operations on walk downs of piping systems for mechanical completion, turnover and pre-commissioning.
Piping Design Lead: Engineering office assignment Tri Ocean Engineering, Calgary, Alberta 2007-2008
Shell Canada Cliffdale Heavy oil Upgrade pipeline gathering system, / new compression/dehydration facility. ($60 million)
* Responsible for front end design and supervision of 6-piping designers,
* Multi-discipline coordination, checking piping deliverables and maintaining project schedule.
* Manage client 3-D Model and constructability reviews utilizing Navisworks & Auto Plant
Al-Khobar, KSA-NGL Plant Expansion Yanbu,
Sincor Upstream Heavy Oil, Caracas, Venezuela ($250 Million) the project involved the design & construction of the main process
station (two trains) of heavy oil treatment and 50 individual well site clusters.
* My responsibilities included the supervision of piping designers, checking piping drawings, P&ID development
and inter-discipline coordination and squad checking of vendor drawings in the Caracas office.
* Seconded to site as the piping construction coordinator to inspect & ensure the timely completion of all piping
systems, pipelines, also responsible for inspection of all pre and post punch lists for the Hydro test package.
