- Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice.
- Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed.
- Assisting patients to fill out information forms.
- Preparing patients’ charts and daily schedules for the dental staff.
- Updating patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures.
- Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders.
- Communicating with medical insurance providers to determine if patients are required to make co-payments.
- Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments as needed.
- Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing, and faxing.
- Identify and assess patients’ needs to achieve satisfaction.
- Build sustainable relationships and trust with patients through open and interactive communication.
- Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools.
- Handle patients’ complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution.
- Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies.
- Greet people entering the advising center with a positive, helpful attitude.
- Providing guidance and answering any questions if needed.
- Providing directions and alerting advisers when someone is there to meet or visit them.
- Answering phone calls in a professional manner.
- Guide students through the phone by giving them the steps needed in the college website.
- Assist students/parents who come into the center.
- Complete paper/file work.
- Assisting with a variety of administrative tasks including copying and taking notes.
- Scheduling appointments.
- Working with the lead teacher to monitor the class schedule.
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment.
- Revising lesson material with students individually or in small groups.
- Ensuring the classroom environment is safe and clean.
- Overseeing students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, and during lunch.
- Collaborating with lead teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions.
- Documenting student progress and communicating with parents to keep them informed.
- Attending all training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings.
- Assists teacher with executing supplemental language instruction and evaluating its effectiveness.
- Constantly monitors the safety and well-being of students, assists students with becoming increasingly independent in the use of the English language.
- Monitors student behavior and helps maintain discipline in the classroom.
- Assists teacher in academic or language instruction.
- Facilitates respect for students from diverse cultures.
- Facilitates and encourages parental involvement.
- Provide supplemental instruction to ELLs under the direction of a classroom or ESL teacher.
- Assist ESL teachers or classroom teachers with documenting instructional services.
