Ensure seamless project/programme progress by assessing contract requisites, providing recommendations, and maintaining budget along with appropriate utilisation of human resources. Evaluate potential risks and formulate mitigation plans, while playing a key role as contact point for internal/external stakeholders on contractual matters. Prepare tenders and contract documentation by reviewing scope of service and bill of quantities to ensure fulfilment of technical specifications, commercial terms, and legal provisions. Steer tender selection by managing bidding process, organising and attending site visits, reviewing technical evaluations, and completing commercial evaluations. Develop purchase orders in Oracle for awarded contracts.
● Administered full life cycle of contracts, including kick off meetings with end users, delivering contractual support, and finalising settlements of final account.
● Managed tendering process as a focal point, gained approval from tender committee for contract awarding valued at 750M QAR and Contract management of all key projects for the National Museum of Qatar
• Administrating contracts during performance period and negotiating, managing, resolving, and implementing different related issues with user department and suppliers/contractors.
• Maintaining, controlling and updating NDSQ’s standard forms of Contract, in coordination with the P&L Manager and group’s legal department
• Monitoring and evaluating the Suppliers/Contractors performance during the execution of the Contract and at the end of the Contract period
• Evaluating and monitoring contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations
• Approving or rejecting requests for deviations from contract specifications and delivery schedules while analyzing price proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine reasonableness of prices
• Formulating strategies for all functional areas, generating high work tempo to stand out in face of stiff competition, preparing documentation post discharging operations
• Managing the entire activities of tendering process for services and supply, starting from getting requirement from user department to preparing the tender documents, floating tenders, receiving, commercial evaluation (once technical evaluation is done by user department) and awarding contract to finalize the shortlisted bidder
• Responsible for preparing the submissions to Limited Tender Committee (LTC) (comprising of top management of company) for any new procurements or variations to the existing ones, above $200K and getting approval for the same.
• Key Achievements -
o Streamlined the Contracts department of P&L within 6 months of joining by signing 23 contracts for the various services and supplies required for the shipyard
o Inspite of the oil crisis in the ME region, managed to negotiate same or better pricing and improved payment terms with most of our suppliers and contractors
Main Responsibilities
•Sourcing of Chemicals and Gases, Air Compressors, all types of Valves, Filters, Gas detection Systems, Bilge water separators, Incinerators, Measuring Instruments, etc to be supplied globally for the container ships, tanker ships, supply service ships & drilling rigs, through yearly price negotiation and contract management.
•Handling a total expenditure of 20 million USD across more than 70 global suppliers (with 50 frame agreements-rate contracts for key suppliers) for all the above mentioned items.
•Developing yearly sourcing strategies, in coordination with Supply Chain Team and stakeholders, for the above category of items, based on spend data analysis for the last couple of years, to reduce costs and gain operational efficiency.
•The role also involves understanding supplier market for particular category, implementing prices in ERP system for stakeholder’s usage and updating them regularly with new products, upgrades, revised prices, etc.
•Maintaining strategic partnership with key suppliers through frame agreements
•Providing assistance to stakeholders to aid intelligent decision making both for their daily running costs as well as new building projects
•Working closely with supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of goods to the vessels at the desired locations
•Sourcing of the above items done for Maersk's newly build world's biggest container vessels.
Major Achievements
* Achieved a total savings of 1 million USD through different sourcing projects in my team in 2014
1) Sourced the Gas detection systems for tanker vessels directly from OEM sister company in Europe, which was earlier brought from a distributor. This resulted in savings close to 0.35 MUSD
2) Renewed the price contracts for Chemicals and Gases for different Business units, thus doing a renewed sourcing process with existing suppliers, which resulted in total savings of 0.6 MUSD. Earlier suppliers didn't have fixed volumes, now suppliers were allocated fixed volumes withing business units, due to which they reduced prices.
* Made fixed price contracts with renowned suppliers of Air Compressors, Bilge Water Separators, Valves, Filters etc. Earlier they used to give discount based pricing on List price.
* Got trained as a Key user for the new online system for maintaining the price catalogs (J-Catalog) and trained my team member
Main Responsibilities
• Support in developing category strategy/action plan and its implementation (meet compliance) for the relevant categories like Air compressors, plate heat exchangers, separators, valves, raw materials, pipes and fittings, etc
•Successfully created and updated supply contracts with suppliers as well as SAP Outline Agreements and material/vendor master data in relevant parts
•Involved in negotiations, supplier selection, secure capacity and forecasting
•Ensured Quality, Delivery and Cost development of goods and services for direct and/or indirect expenditures
•Managed supplier performance and relationships
•Analyzed future demand trends in cooperation with Sales or other involved functions
•Support non-conformity/warranty process management in escalated issues
Major Achievements
1) Fixed price contracts with major suppliers for Heat Exchangers, Air Compressors, Separators
2) Sourced 6 high capacity boilers from a newly developed supplier for one of the power plants in Mangalore. Got a very good price reduction (15%) as compared to existing major supplier
Main Responsibilities:
•Complete setup of purchase department as ORS was a nascent organization, had to start from scratch
•Administered operations of Solapur waste to energy project, of worth Rs 30 crores which included procurement of civil, mechanical, electrical & instrumentation related raw materials and equipment .
•Ensure timely availability of all materials and equipment required at site in line with the civil schedule.
•Vendor development and vendor management along with inspections of equipment at vendor’s factory
•Spearheaded timely preparation of technical Comparison of vendor quotations after technical evaluations & recommendations from Design Engineering Department
* With technical support from projects teams, we finalized price contracts for Civil works, Electrical Works, Instrumentation works, Piping works and Fire & Safety works for the Solapur project.
Major Achievements:
*Set up purchase team of 4 members and completed the total project purchase worth 20 crores (Civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and fire & safety) within 15 months
*Finalized sourcing of Bio Gas based power generators of value Rs 3.5 crores, which was the heart of the whole project and with highest equipment value. The engines were imported from USA
Main responsibilities
• Procure and ensure timely delivery of mechanical & electrical equipment, pipes and fittings required for Sewage Water treatment plants.
• Job also involved making technical datasheets, sending enquiries to vendors, collecting quotations, making technical and cost comparisons and negotiating with vendors along with Purchase Manager
* Inspecting equipment at suppliers' works and approving them before dispatching to site
* Coordination between site and related departments like engineering, finance etc for timely availability of all materials, equipment, machinery as well as manpower for smooth flow of work at site and ensure completion of works as per project plan
Main Responsibilities:
• Overall supervision of the production activities of Tyre Curing process and final inspection. 3 shift engineers and 30 technicians in the team.
• Played an instrumental role in increasing the tyre production from 1500 tyres per day to 10, 000 tyres per day in a span of 8 years.
• Effectively maintained 3S & safe working environment at work place as well as TQM and TPM activities
• Played an instrumental role in achieving ISO-QS 9000, ISO 14001 & ISO: TS16949:2002 certification & implementing the same
• Administered SQPC control and Kaizen activities for improvements in 4M + 1E for continuous improvement in productivity, quality & safety
• Holds the distinction of initiating:
? QC Circle activity for reducing defect/scrap & improved the quality of tyres
? Different safety activities like KY training, using fire extinguishers, fire hydrant systems & environment protection like scrap & waste management, etc.
Major Achievements
* Joined as a trainee engineer & was confirmed in 1 year as a independent shift engineer (supervisor) managing tyre production and QA activities with 5 technicians in the shift.
*Played an instrumental role in increasing the tyre production from 1500 tyres per day to 10, 000 tyres per day in a span of 8 years and improving the quality of finished tyres.
*Played an instrumental role in achieving ISO-QS 9000, ISO 14001 & ISO: TS16949:2002 certification & implementing the same
