• Managing the engineering department: o Developing the departments annual work program in the field of architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electro-mechanics and electro-technics, aligned with Libnor management policies and strategies, and cross cutting with Lebanese ministries priorities, national stakeholders benefits, market and industry needs while contributing to public safety, public health, economic growth and the protection of the environment o Monitoring the progress of project activities within more than 30 national technical committees and ensuring deliverables compliance with respect to project objectives, timeline and output quality. o Preparing periodic progress report to the management against set targets and KPIs along with new work items, activities and projects proposal o Working closely with team members, providing guidance, suggestions, technical assistance and corrective measures to the progress and the quality of the work.
• Conducting continuous research in international technologies progress to reflect in standardization which will lead to a greater Lebanese market efficiency and competitiveness and respond to its need.
• Responsible of the coordination, animation and management of multiple National technical committees mainly NL TC 207/Environmental management, NL TC 180/Solar energy, NL TC 178/Lifts, escalators and moving walks, NL TC 205/Building environment design - Green building standard, etc
• Leading technical committee meetings with key Lebanese stakeholders from public and private sectors
• Developing and amending Lebanese consensus-based standards for products and services based on international standards and references.
• Drafting of Lebanese standards particularly applied in Lebanon through research, sampling and testing
• Developing of mandatory standards for the issuance of Lebanese decrees by public authorities
• Drafting legal documents and assisting in commenting on draft decrees and legal papers
• Delivering lectures on standardization for the public and private sectors, universities and NGOs
• Representing Libnor in national committees and meetings for the establishment of national strategies supporting the economy, industry and commerce
• Participating in international standardization through ISO national mirror committees
• Representing Lebanon in Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization (AIDSMO) committees
• Replying to enquiries and technical requests from public administrations, private organizations and companies in Lebanon and abroad regarding standardization, compliance of products and services with existing standards, state of the art in technologies, orientation in new businesses, etc.
• Providing consultancies to companies, NGOs projects, governmental projects and schemes in standards development, implementation and market surveillance.
• Ensuring stakeholder engagement in standardization activities in a consensus-based approach through regular communication and feedback.
• Developing research projects with universities and private sector.
• Assisting in establishing the quality system in the institution according to ISO 9001 and the risk management according to ISO 31000
• Participation in continuous training courses on standardization, project management, quality systems, United Nations SDGs, etc. inside and outside Lebanon organized by ISO, Libnor and national/international organizations.
