1. Control & Maintain the vessels movement in Khor Dubai related waters by directing
the vessels to allocated berths in accordance with vessel requirement & specifications.
2. Check agency letter for ship breathings and entry purpose.
3. In a navigation assistance service provide information as may be needed to aid a ship
in difficult navigation or meteorological circumstances or in case of defects or
deficiencies.
4. Broadcast the weather forecast report on air through VHF radio on channel 16 & 14
every 6 hours to all navigators and records the wind chart every 2 hours.
5. Receiving and responding to emergency incident and Mayday calls such as distress,
marine pollution and other special assistance required by the vessels inside Dubai
Creek or in Dubai waters through VHF radio and inform concerned departments like
Coast guards, marine police for any immediate action if necessary.
6. Records and submit such occurrence report as when required.
7. Maintain updated records of all vessels entering and living Khor Dubai and related
Dubai water.
8. Take part in producing solutions to the problems.
9. Inform and update safety and environment requirement for abandoned vessel in the
coast of Dubai and Dubai Creek.
10. Follow up safety & Environment requirement.
11. Maintain the filing of control room documents of the vessels & correspondence.
12. Participate in studies made by forming any team work by the section.
13. Go on for rounding on boat for IALA system inspection.
