Main Projects
Design coordination and management of 8 turn-key tailor-made or FIDIC contracts of the following 88 social buildings in six municipalities over four provinces, representing a turnover of US$330M:
● Schools - Kindergartens, Pre-Schools, Primary, Secondary and Vocational Schools: 79 units;
● Medical Centres: 6 units;
● Sport Facilities: 3 units.

Main Functions and Responsibilities
 Lead all design development process, to get the best design, with the quality required, in a cost effective way and timely manner, until contractor selection and contract signature.
 Coordinate the tender process and lead offers’ analysis, negotiations and department’s decision on award.
 Give contract management support and advice Project Managers’ actions in order to compliance with Kora’s objectives in terms of budget, delivery, quality and safety.
 Direct and coordinate contractors and suppliers in an overall activity perspective: performance follow-up, progress review, work best-practices and procedures, problems discussion and consider necessary actions.

Major Accomplishments
 Achieved savings of 31, 5% of the total budget for construction and furniture of social buildings.
 Presented technical and commercial offers for new 95 social building in nine municipalities over six provinces, totalling US$345M.

Major Accomplishments
 Worked closely with Project Managers on sites which were reporting monthly losses.
 Established cost control systems, monitored budget and reviewed change-order requests.
 Coordinated and monitored site’s time schedule.
 Identified problems and suggested corrective measures while avoiding cost and schedule overruns.
 Prepared and presented monthly report in terms of budget and delivery for stakeholders.

Major Accomplishments
 I was challenged to deliver an “impossible” project on time: the estimated completion of the “Underpass” was Aug.2010, when it should be completed by 1st Dec.2009. Successfully implemented measures and finished the work estimated to last 13.5 months in 4.5 months. The Romanian Prime Minister inaugurated the “Underpass on DN1” on 27th Nov.2009!
 1st engineer to hand-over projects at Lena Constructii Romania - the “Underpass on DN1” and the “Highway DN1” (the “Highway” was the 1st site of the company and was finished on 2007, it was repaired on spring 2010, for final hand-over).
 Acquired extensive knowledge of FIDIC contract management on “Infrastructures and Roads Network in Baneasa”.
 Collaborated closely with General Manager and tender department in seeking new business opportunities.
 Built the strategic relationship with Romanian tender partners: Delta ACM and Tehnologica Radion.

Major Accomplishments
 I was challenged to be the Project Manager of the biggest site of the company in Portugal at the time, the “The Residences at Victoria Golf Club” a closed condominium/ apartment hotel, managed by Tivoly Hotels & Resorts, with 20 buildings with three or four floors, 145 two and three bedroom stylish apartments set in landscaped gardens with indoor and outdoor pools, health club and a kids’ playground.
 Maintained a healthy relationship with a very difficult client and created profitable win-win situations under a very demanding contract, with extremely high quality requirements and penalties for every single delay.
 The resort received the prestigious European Residential Property Award of "Best Golf Development" in 2010 and was one of six finalists of the Portuguese "Oscars" of Real Estate 2011 in the Tourism category.
 Negotiated extensions of time, claims due to changed site conditions, 110 change-orders related with new designs and scopes, revision of prices due to late completion of works and default interests due to late payments on “Urban Park of River Diz”, increasing the contractual payments in 48% and exceeding forecasted profit margins in 300%.
