1. Maintains a legal and contractual liaison between the Contractors, Parsons and the Client.
2. Coordinates with Senior Resident Engineer and Resident Engineers relating to field administration, contracts or correspondence.
3. Responsible for the timely preparation of legal and contractual documents such as Letters of Instructions (LOIs), Contract Change Orders/Modifications, Insurance Document, Certificate of Final Acceptance (COFA), contractual correspondence and any other legal or contractual packages as needed or required by Senior Management.
4. Prepares and negotiates cost impacts and schedule changes with Contractor for contract Change Orders/ Modifications - as a member of the Construction Negotiation Team
5. Prepares contract initial and final acceptance, certificates of maintenance and coordinates contract closeout.
6. Prepares and maintains records of activity and status of contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
7. Reviews and assists in resolving and processing claims, back charges, invoices.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Resident Engineer, Contracts Lead and or Senior Management.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Preparation and Management of Contracts & Subcontracts during both Pre-tender & Post-tender stages until execution;
• Evaluating & mitigating the Risks within the Contracts during the Pre-tender stage;
• Handling Bid Clarifications related to Contracts;
• Preparation and issuance of EOIs, Subcontracts, LOAs, LOIs, Purchase Orders etc. for Suppliers, Subcontractors etc.;
• Assist in drafting the contractual part of Expression of Interests, Prequalification etc.
• Management of Claims such as Variation Orders, Extension of Time, Cost Compensation etc.;
• Lead the Contractual correspondence;
• Serve as the point of contact for Government Bodies, Clients, Customers and Subcontractors on contractual matters;
• Handle company legal matters along with the Arbitrators;
• Assist in the arrangement of Projects’ guarantees and insurances;
• Developing policies as required for the company and implement them within the organization;
• Commercial Management in line with the Finance Department;
• Managing the team in a way to ensure the achievement of set KPIs;
• Dealing with unexpected costs in Projects by raising CTNs, Variation Orders, Claims etc.;
• Management of Insurances in line with the Insurance Department;
• Managing Bonds, Guarantees, Warranties etc. of the Projects;
• Attending meetings to monitor progress
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
• During the Pre-tender stage, provide assistance incl. but not limited to review of draft contract, verifying the requirements of guarantees/insurances/ etc., preparation of Technical part of the Tender.
• Prepare and negotiate contractual claims for extension of time, prolongation cost, loss of profit etc. in order to compensate the unforeseen delay events.
• Managing suppliers/subcontractors and arrangement/issuance of Contract Agreements and Letters of Intent.
• Lead the Contractual correspondence.
• Serve as the point of contact for customers on contractual matters,
• Handle company legal matters along with the Arbitrators.
• Management of guarantees and insurances.
• Developing policies as required for the company and implement them within the organi-zation.
• Commercial Management in line with the Finance Department incl. but not limited to or-ganization of Payment Certifications, Change Order/Variations’ management, cost con-trolling etc.

Worked as an Internee Engineer during the Bachelors program and worked both in the structural as well as contracts department of the Beg Associates and assist the senior management in preparing the contracts and design re-assessment of the tallest building of Karachi “Bahria Icon Tower”
