HSE Consultant; Reported to: Operational Manager
Snap Shot of Profile: * Spearheading efforts across handling the entire spectrum of functions pertaining to industrial safety, fire safety & administration while developing HSE Management system and conducting compliance audits in the manufacturing industry
* Shouldering total responsibility to ensure compliance with statutory provisions relating to Health, Safety and Environment; generating awareness across all functional areas the essence of observing HSE standards to advance a healthy and productive work environment.
* Proficiently handling emergency situations, developing & executing effective and insightful fire fighting & safety operations for ascertaining safety of high valued assets, materials and building; conceptualizing and implementing innovative plans and SOP's for safety and recommending protection measures.
* Playing significant role in ensuring statutory compliances and matters relating to safety, occupational health & environment; conducting safety inspections/audits, occupational health surveys, surveillance and field auditing for compliance.
* Entrusted with the responsibility of developing health & safety management plans, construction environmental management plans and operation & maintenance of emergency communication; pivotal in devising and implementing emergency response plan for the onshore operations.
* Developing & executing both short and long term solutions for to meet safety, environmental, reliability, and efficiency goals; deftly conducting inspection & approvals of new equipments at vendor locations and investigating accidents, occupational health issues.
* Formulating strategies for functional testing, periodical maintenance and audits/mock drills to ensure the fire prevention measures are in place; while conceptualizing and effectuating measures in the standard operating procedures.
* Ensuring implementation of waste management system and reduction measures, waste water monitoring and control; overseeing off-site waste disposal and management while ensuring environment legislative requirement, compliance and documentation.
* Optimizing resources while identifying and mitigating bottlenecks; conducting ISO audits, hazards & risk assessment, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements while adhering to operational safety standards, assurance and documentation;
* Understanding of all aspects of contractor safety management guidelines and supporting formulation of project management and training plans for all new contractors; implementing rating system to assess the contractors HSE performance in different projects.
* Instrumental in handling tasks pertaining to HAZOP, HAZAN, HAZID study, safety audits, and complete accident report & investigation/ accident prevention programme implementation; coordinating during external safety audits and preparing implementation status reports of safety audits.
* Setting-up internal reporting system and prepare reports viz., monthly/quarterly status of safety audits, fire protection systems testing and inspection, process hazards analysis, material safety data sheets, safety manual, onsite emergency plan, safety manual for contractors, fire emergency procedure manual, fire manual & pocket fire fighting guide manual.
* Driving efforts across interacting with government authorities, internal/ external fire and safety organizations and coordinating with projects department during execution of new projects.
* Adroitly imparting safety induction training, use of fire protection systems, induction training, occupational health, emergency preparedness, etc. conducting training on plant evacuation, and building fire alarms; as well as on HSE policies, procedures, loss prevention principles. Periodically reviewing training needs of Fire & Safety personnel.
