Provided business development efforts and participated as part of a team of technical professionals working on hydro projects in Nigeria to improve transmission system reliability by implementing robust measures such as “Synchronous Compensation Mode” at hydro generating plants. Provided industry-proven analysis and modeling methods and tools for unit, plant, system, and regional/national levels over multiple time scales to quantify and maximize the additional benefits and services provided by hydro generating plant to system transmission grid.
Successfully managed and provided full scale engineering and technical support for substation construction and upgrades, equipment procurement, resource planning and scheduling, as well as contract resource strategy and management for multiple engineering projects. Selected by company’s senior management team from a group of Engineers to perform and oversee routine work that related to project/task planning, scheduling and construction including equipment ordering, equipment inspection, equipment test results verification, construction budget forecast, and construction sequence coordination. Maintained ownership of project/task completion and supported training and provided leadership and guidance to personnel as well as new engineers and contractors to timely achieve objectives. Reviewed and managed design drawings to ensure engineering technicality, compliance, industry standards, safety codes, and all requirements and specifications.

• Assisted and participated in substation studies and calculations including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, power factor correction, grounding analysis, insulation coordination, power system studies on utility industrial/commercial electric power transmission and distribution systems.
Spear headed the development and implementation of fleet engineering initiatives, programs and capital projects in alignment with best practices and technical requirements. Assessed business cases, identified critical issues, and prescribed right-sized solutions for contract writing and Engineering design. Ensured all documents, work plans, technical solutions and engineering calculations were in compliance with reliability/industry standards and corporate objectives in creating new standards for substation construction. Interfaced and collaborated with all and required cross-functional teams and external stakeholders in achieving project financial goals while performing economic and financial value analysis to obtain maximum return on investment for all substation and transmission line projects.
• Drove and led successful completion of turnkey and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects by ensuring design, construction, is in accordance to standards and budget.
• Designed and launched a new program for substation lightning protection scheme using scientific and engineering research in the designing of lightning masts and shield wires in accordance with IEEE and practiced industrial standards and procedures.
• Innovated new techniques for existing substation lightning protection across system grid.
• Provided Engineering and technical expertise for ongoing role in substation and transmission line grounding project.
• Selected as department’s primary point-of-contact for NERC and FERC compliance.
Successfully drove, directed and engineered the construction and commissioning of multi-million dollar substations and transmission lines in alignment with storm water and pollution prevention plan. Conducted and monitored substation construction site development, foundation work, electrical and steel construction and relay protection. Produced technical evaluations, and offered technical guidance on project design drawings, confirming adherence to engineering and customer guidelines and specifications. Developed project bids and authored request for proposal (RFP). Initiated and monitored project estimates, cost sheets and budgets. Provided oversight concerning project time-lines and costs to within +-3% of stated estimates and budget. Managed contractors, labor and work assignments with an eye toward achieving zero accidents. • Ensured compliance with standards, best engineering practices, established codes, and technical requirements.
• Completed multiple projects using knowledge and the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to engineer and manage the construction and commissioning of substation and transmission lines..
