 Communicating courteously with customers by telephone, email, letter and face to face.
 Giving full attention to what customers are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
 Getting Information by observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
 Providing help and advice to customers.
 Producing written information for customers, often involving use of computer packages/software. So knowing different types of technology is a must.
 Visiting customers to provide a one-to-one service. And developing feedback or complaints procedures for customers to use.
 Investigating and solving customers' problems, which may be complex or long-standing problems. Putting up with angry customers is a tough job. Being cool when the heat is on is a must, and that requires patience, professionalism and positivist.
 Issuing refunds or compensation to customers.
 Keeping accurate records of discussions or correspondence with customers.
 Meeting with managers to discuss possible improvements to customer service.
 Communicate and coordinate with internal departments.
 Training new staff to deliver a high standard of customer service.
 Ability to motivate the Sales team.
 Achieving sales target.
