- Categories handled: confectioneries, drinks, and snacks.
- Reporting to the Commercial Director and CEO.
- Establishing an import plan and implement process for the organization from ground zero.
- Sourcing and identifying overseas manufacturers and consolidators based on business needs.
- Identifying unique and trendy SKUs which are not available in the local market and arranging samples for preliminary approvals in co-ordination with clearance personnel.
- Confirming quantities with suppliers based on YTD sales of the SKUs of similar category available on store shelves.
- Issuing purchase orders based on the SKU approval from the management and price feasibility.
- Arranging shipment pick-up in case of EXW and FOB shipments based on the nature of the SKUs confirmed.
- Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.
- Approval of commercial documents with vendor prior to shipment arrival and confirming that documents meet the local customs requirements.
- Playing a vital role in clearance procedure, following up each shipment received at Kuwait port and health clearance from local health municipality.
- Preparing insurance document needed for all shipments (inbound & outbound).
- Negotiate and approve terms and prices of materials, contact the suppliers and arrange deliveries consistent with production plans & inventory objectives.
- Handling and monitoring of claims to factories and vendors for defectives, shortage and NCR’s (if any).
- Purchasing and finalizing contracts of new machineries required in factory.
- Handling spare parts requisitions for machinery operating in factory.
- Handling payments to vendors i.e., opening L/Cs, T/Ts, CAD, and Bank Guarantees.
- Coordinate and control L/Cs issuance, shipping documents and customs clearance for imported materials.
- Following up with QC and Marketing for new product/design development.
- Arranging samples for QC and providing all the related information for development of alternate material.
- Arranging equipment for export of goods based on the nature of commodity
- Arranging documentation and finalizing formalities for exporting reefer/dry containers via Sea/Air.
- Following up with shipping lines for shipment arrivals.
- Maintaining filing records based on ISO and BRC standards.
