RESPONSIBILITIES:-
• To assist Principal Research Officer and draft research specifications.
• To ensure that research is conducted within a set time frame to meet policy requirements.
• To manage competitive tendering exercises, in agreement with the terms of reference for research.
• To create Liaison between external researchers and policy customers and commenting on draft research instruments (e.g. questionnaires).
• To ensure quality control of research.
• To comment on/editing draft research reports and working in close partnership with both external research contractors and policy colleagues during the course of research studies.
• To work on different research projects and apply a wide range of different research methodologies in an analytical, systematic and rational way.
Current tasks: -
• Monthly malware report on top/devastating viruses, Trojans, worms etc.
• Information gathering of mobile sets vulnerable to IEME change.
• Security issues in Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications.
• Report on DDoS/Botnet Attacks till now targeted Pakistan Websites/ Organization Networks.
Responsibilities:-
• Installation, configuration, and maintains the organization's LAN server, workstations and WAN routers.
• Managing the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of the organization's local and wide area networks. Analyzing products and recommending use of new products and services to senior management.
• LAN/WAN performance and security management. Implementation of policies and procedures for LAN/WAN usage throughout the organization.

Personal Identification Secure Comparison and Evaluation System (PISCES)
PISCES is state of the art technology coupled with intelligent business logic for immigration control to combat international terrorism by capturing travelers data and comparing it with predefined watch list of suspects. It has been developed in Java using Oracle 10g as backend database. It has been implemented on all ports of embarkation/disembarkation of the country. The central server installed in Islamabad is linked with all airports/ seaports/ land routes and railway stations on a countrywide WAN.
