Qatar Steel was formed in 1974 as the first integrated steel plant in the Arabian Gulf. The plant includes 2-DRI, 5-Melton Steel and 2- Re Bar Mills. The total capacity of Re Bar is 1.5 Million MT. The company also has shares in other Steel plants within the region.
As a Finance Division Manager, reporting to the CEO, I was responsible for:
•Financial planning and budgeting including short term plans and long term business plans.
•Finalizing the Statutory Financial statements, standalone and consolidated, under the International Accounting Standards and IFRS.
•Working Capital management and Treasury function including building strong relationships with the Banks and Financial Institutions. Raising funds for financing expansion projects and initiating refinancing proposals to save on the financing costs. Structure and allocate capital, and manage project financing.
•Performance Management through review of strategic plans and setting targets and KPIs. Conducts performance dialogues and monitor performance. Implementing the Kaplan Balanced Score card system.
•An instrumental member in the implementation of Enterprise Risk Management and Corporate Governance.
•An effective management member who is leading cross-functional teams in all critical functions of the company, i.e. Supply Chain, Commercial, Marketing and production planning.
•Develop Financial policies and procedures to set the control functions within the finance processes and defing the Financial Authorities to safeguard the company spending within the authorized limits.

Internal Audit Manager

PETRODAR
Pterodar is an oil and gas operating company. It is a consortium of the CNPC China, Petronas Malaysia and Sudapet Sudan. My responsibilities if the full operation of the internal audit department. Major areas of emphasis is the corporate governance, the risk management and the internal controls. I am also coordinating the activities of the external auditors, the Government auditors and the partners audit team. Currently I am reporting to the president of the company, but arrangement are being made to create an audit committee to which audit reports will be submitted. The audit committee will be chaired by a non executive director. In addition I am responsible for the company manuals and procedure being the custodian of the documents and ensuring their updates and approvals. Compliance with the manuals and procedures is a routine activity of the department through the annual audit program.

Finance and Administration SUDAPET.
Sudapet is the national oil and gas company in Sudan. The company has shares in all the operating companies in the country in addition to its own activities in Field development studies, Project management and nationals training.
The position covers the financial aspects including oil and entitlements accounting, financial accounting, budgeting, HR and administration. In addition I was representing the company in most of the partners meetings.
Moreover, I deputize for the General Manager during his absence. In my capacity as a senior manager in Sudapet, I was a member of the Board of Directors in some operating companies, while in others I attend the Board meetings as an assistant to the General Manager.
My major achievements in Sudapet is my contribution in the restructuring of the company and the preparation of the Road Map for the next decade followed by a 5 year Business Plan. I was also the team Leader of all the negotiations regarding the establishment of Centroid company which is a partnership between Sudapet and OGP Malaysia, the agreement regarding the Sudapak sale of shares to an Egyption company. The final negotiation and signing of the agreement was done in Dubai. Also leading the negotiation of Block 5 of WINPOC where the final meetings and agreements were done in Geneva. Leading the continuous discussions of the Main Building contract from it initiation till completion.

Reviewed the budget preparation system and submitted certain recommendations the majority of which were adopted by management.

In coordination with other sister companies, produced for the first time, a consolidated set of accounts to the group.
