• Project Management Office (PMO) responsibilities for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) during the tendering phase:
• Tender Document Review and Preparation:
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure all Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements are comprehensively addressed within tender documents.
• Review tender documents for alignment with client, Project Management Consultant (PMC), and regulatory OSH expectations.
• Maintain a centralized repository of relevant OSH standards, regulations, and best practices for tender document reference.
• HSE Plan Development:
• Develop comprehensive OSH plans for potential projects considering:
• Hazard mitigation strategies.
• Risk assessments.
• Implementation plans for safety protocols.
• Ensure OSH plans align with project specifics, client requirements, and PMC expectations.
• HSE Documentation Management:
• Establish and maintain a centralized repository of all project HSE requirements and plans.
• Ensure easy access and reference to HSE documentation during the tendering process for all relevant personnel (internal and external).
• Collaboration and Compliance:
• Coordinate with HSE Managers across projects to guarantee consistent adherence to OSH standards set by PMC, client, and stakeholders.
• Proactively engage with regulatory bodies to stay updated on new OSH regulations and ensure compliance across all tendered projects.
• Preparing HSE Files for Tendering:
• Compile a comprehensive HSE documentation package for tender submissions, including:
• Relevant OSH policies and procedures.
• Project-specific hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Emergency preparedness and response plans.
• Training requirements and plans for the project workforce.
• Permitting needs and applications (if applicable).
• Ensure all HSE documents are accurate, up-to-date, and tailored to the specific requirements of the tendered project. Tendering Phase:
• Prepare and review tender documents, ensuring all OSH requirements are comprehensively addressed and aligned with client and PMC expectations.
• Develop OSH plans for potential projects, detailing strategies for hazard mitigation, risk assessment, and safety protocol implementation.
• Document and maintain a repository of all health and safety requirements and plans for easy access and reference during the tendering process.
• Compliance and Collaboration:
• Coordinate with HSE Managers across projects to ensure adherence to PMC, client, and stakeholder OHS standards.
• Engage with regulatory bodies to stay updated on new regulations and ensure compliance across all operations.
• Project Implementation Phase:
• Upon project acquisition, promptly initiate the implementation of the new OSH requirements as per the client and PMC directives.
• Customize and update safety protocols and measures to align with specific project needs and regulatory changes.
• Continuous Monitoring and Improvement:
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance with OSH standards.
• Implement continuous improvement practices to enhance safety measures and response strategies based on project outcomes and feedback.
• Training and Awareness:
• Facilitate OSH training sessions for project teams to ensure awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
• Incident Management and Reporting:
• Lead incident investigation and reporting processes, ensuring corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
Implements, advices and oversees the Health & Safety programs within the Al Nabil Industry facilities
· Oversees and coordinates initiatives to promote Health & Safety in the workplace. For example, Safety Talks program, Safety Observations
· On- site lead for Health and Safety orientations to employees, contractors and visitors.
· Joint Health and Safety Committee Lead .
· Partners with Human Resources on issues related to investigations and return to work planning
· Verifies certifications are obtained and monitors for compliance for people and/or equipment
· Initiates and coordinates H&S training in compliance with Jordanian Ministry of Labor and others ministries related and Company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
· Supports the operation team investigation and reporting accidents and incidents within the facilities
· Generates H&S statistics and provides regular reports to Management.
· On the production floor presence providing a strong health and safety mentoring, coaching and support to operations
· Maintains all safety records and documentation
· Ensures compliance with all relevant provincial H&S related legislation and regulations including MOL and external audits requirements and guidelines.
• responsible for issuing and applying all Health, Safety, Security and Environmental functions policies, practices, and operations within IKEA Jordan by coordinating with the Head Office and MENA region, in addition to the training, auditing, risk assessments and reporting.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manages and develops the company’s Health, Safety, Security and Environmental functions, implementing policies, procedures and systems to provide safe and secure business operation across IKEA Jordan sites.
• Represents IKEA -MENA with local sites health, safety, security and environment department, in order to ensure a mutual understanding of the Company’s goals and requirements, and to work in a co-operative partnership with local resources.
• Maintains HSE certifications.
• Maintains up-to-date information and knowledge on new developments and best practices in the areas of Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Loss Prevention.
• Develops emergency response plans and ensures resources in place to respond to different emergencies such as fire, spills, personal injuries.etc.
