Working as a Contract Manager for The European Social Fund (ESF) Division which is a part of Strategic
Finance Directorate. ESF is one of several structural funds set up to improve employment opportunities
in the European Union (EU) and so helps raise standards of living. As a Contract Manager I am
responsible for managing my own caseload of complex ESF Projects in a professional and timely
manner. I analyse detailed evidence, related to claims for ESF funding, ensuring these claims from
Projects across England have been reported correctly and in compliance with EU Commission and
national rules. I deliver performance at pace, influencing external stakeholders and actively managing
my project caseload, to deliver quality outcomes against stretching deadlines. I gather evidence and
make judgements to drive continuous improvement for individual projects and the wider ESF
Programme. I monitor projects to ensure they are performing to the required standards agreed in
their grant funding agreements and are being delivered compliantly.
