• Represented SSEM in Pre-Bid and Post Bid Clarification Meetings with Client and prepared

appropriate drainage pumps. Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s) and Piping & Instrumentation
Diagrams (P&ID’s) were also developed based on Design Criteria Document. Pipe Routing
had been finalized based on which the Head Loss Calculations had been done which became
the basis of Sizing of Drainage Pumps.

• Embedded the Addenda issued by Client in Project Technical Specifications and updated the
technical and commercial documents accordingly. Also raised relevant Technical
Clarifications to Client, if required.
• Worked on the Design of Truck Unloading Systems of Arabian Super Light Oil, Distillate Oil
and Raw Water.
• Worked on Pipe Sizing Calculations by executing Head Loss Calculations of Arabian Super
Light Oil Piping, Distillate Oil Piping, Water Piping and Chemicals Piping. Also worked on Pipe
Thickness Calculations.
• Worked on Sizing of Horizontal / Vertical Centrifugal Pumps based on NPSHA Calculations
considering specified NPSHA redundancy over NPSHR, the Flow Rate and Discharge Head
Requirements.
• Worked on the Selection and Sizing of appropriate Strainers depending on the quality of fuel
/ water required at terminal points as specified in the Operation & Maintenance Manuals of
Manufacturers.
• Reviewed the P&ID’s, General Arrangement Drawings and Piping Layouts of Water Pre-
Treatment System including Water Clarifiers, Flocculation, Filtration, Ultra-Filtration,
Chemicals Injection Equipment and Water Storage as well as Pumping Systems.
• Reviewed the P&ID’s, General Arrangement Drawings and Piping Layouts of Reverse Osmosis
Demineralized Water Treatment Plant submitted by vendors and ensured that the sizing of
each equipment in Demineralized Water Treatment Plant is sufficient to fulfill the water
requirements of Power Plant with an operational redundancy as per Project Technical
Specifications and ensured that the DW Treatment Plant produces the water quality as per
specified requirements.
• Determined the Mechanical Equipment and Piping requiring Thermal Insulation and Metallic
Cladding, worked on the selection of an appropriate Insulation Material, calculated Thermal
Insulation Thicknesses varying from system to system and finalized the BOM’s accordingly to
request Techno-Commercial Offers from vendors.
• Reviewed, in detail, the General Arrangement Drawings, Test Procedures, Sizing Calculations
and Inspection & Test Plans of 2 x 20, 000 m³ IFR Arabian Super Light Oil Storage Tanks, 1 x
500 m³ IFR Distillate Oil Storage Tank, a Distillate Oil Day Tank and Water Storage Tanks
designed and constructed in accordance with API Standard 650 and Recommended Practices
specified by API.
• Based on coordinated agenda, I have attended a number of meetings with different vendors
to discuss and finalize, in detail, all technical as well as commercial issues. Based on the said
meetings, I used to raise Pre-Bid Clarifications to Client in order to make the Scope of Work
clear before the submission of bid.
• I had been a part of SSEM Delegation which held a Consortium Meeting with M/S SAMSUNG
C&T held in SEP.2014 in Seoul, South Korea, to discuss and finalize the Division of
Responsibility Document, Technical Bid Documents specifically pertaining to Design.
• Prepared the Lists of Technical Deviations to clearly identify which particular specified
technical requirements couldn’t be satisfied by providing satisfactory justifications of
technical deviations.
• Designed 35 km long AG/UG Natural Gas Supply Pipeline from Interface Point of Saudi
ARAMCO to the Power Plant in accordance with Engineering Code ASME B31.8 (Gas
Transmission and Distribution Piping Systems).
• Designed 10 km long Above Ground Raw Water Supply Pipeline from Interface Point of
National Water Company (NWC) to the Power Plant in accordance with Power Piping Code
ASME B31.1. Also, worked on the Sizing and Selection of Main Raw Water Feed Pumping
Station, Buffer Tank, Booster Raw Water Feed Pumping Station and Water Metering Skids.
• Determined the Types of Electric Overhead Travelling Cranes and of Electric Monorail Hoists
in accordance with the requirements of heavy equipment installed in different power plant
buildings. In addition to this, worked on Sizing of Cranes and Hoists as per Project Technical
Specifications and calculated the Operating Spans, Lifting Heights and Travelling Lengths in
coordination with Civil Drawings.
• Developed the P&ID and Piping Layout of Main Compressed Air System, worked on the
Sizing of Air Compressors and on Sizing of Instrument Air & Service Air Piping.

• Worked on the Design and Sizing of Chemical Storage Tanks, Chemicals Feed Pumps and
Chemicals Feed Piping.
• Determined the Piping Systems requiring Protective Coating, calculated the volume of
protective coating required to be applied based on DFT’s specified by the Client and reviewed
the Technical Data Sheets of different types of coatings like Primer Epoxy Coating,
Intermediate Epoxy Coating and Top Polyurethane Coating. In addition to this, proposed
different color schemes for different Mechanical Piping Systems for proper system
identification.
• Developed the P&ID and Piping Layout of Distillate Oil Supply Piping from Distillate Oil Day
Tank to Black Start Diesel Generator (BSDG) System and Fire Fighting Diesel Driven Standby
Pumping System, also worked on Feed Pumps’ NPSHA Calculations and Head Loss
Calculations as well.
• Developed Piping Isometric Drawings and Piping Isometric Weld-Maps of all Mechanical
Systems.
• Worked on the Selection of Valves, reviewed in detail the General Arrangement Drawings of
Ball Valves, Gate Valves, Flow Control Valves, Butterfly Valves and Non-Return Valves and
finalized the BOM’s.
• Developed the P&ID’s and General Arrangement Drawings of Arabian Super Light Oil and
Distillate Oil Truck Unloading System, Storage System, 60 m³/hr Capacity Treatment
System, Tank to Tank Transfer System and Forwarding System. The detailed drawings of
Unloading System, Treatment System and Forwarding Systems had been received from
vendors and incorporated in the Main P&ID’s of Fuel Oil System.
• Analyzed the Piping Systems with respect to flexibility and stress relieving.
• Reviewed the P&ID’s and General Arrangement Drawings of Gas Filtration System, Gas
Heating System and Gas Compression System submitted by different vendors and developed
the Technical as well as Commercial Comparisons to select the most appropriate vendor.
• Reviewed the P&ID and General Arrangement Drawings of Nitrogen Generation System,
Nitrogen Skid Mounted Cylinder Storage System, Nitrogen Supply System for the purpose of
Nitrogen Blanketing of Tanks and Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG’s) and also
Nitrogen Purging of Natural Gas Pipelines.
• Reviewed the General Arrangement Drawings of Indoor as well as of Outdoor Elevators in
accordance with ASME A17.
• Prepared the Technical and Commercial Comparisons of Workshop Equipment submitted by
different vendors.

• Inspected the Installation of Fire Fighting Hydrants.
• Prepared Inspection & Test Plans in accordance with relevant International Standards.
• Inspected the Installation of Foam Chambers and Foam Monitors of Crude Oil Storage Tanks.
• Fit-up and Visual Inspections, Axial Alignments of Welded, Coupled and Threaded Joints.
• Monitored the Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) of welding prominently including
Radiographic Testing (RT) and Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT). Maintained the records of
Radiographic Testing Reports, Dye Penetration Testing Reports, Raised & Approved RFIW’s
and other general official documentation.
• Checked the piping installation thoroughly to verify if the piping installation had been
executed in accordance with approved drawings.
• Inspections of Air Blowing prior to Hydrotest, Air Blowing after Hydrotest and Nitrogen
Purging.
• Prepared the Hydrostatic Testing Procedure complying with the requirements stipulated in
ASME B31.1 Power Piping Code and getting its approval from Client. Also, conducting
Internal as well as Final Inspections of Hydrostatic Testing based on approved procedure.
• Prepared the Pneumatic Testing Procedure complying with the requirements stipulated in
ASME B31.1 Code and getting its approval from Client. Also, conducting Internal as well as
Final Inspections of Pneumatic Testing based on approved procedure.
• Inspected the Air Flushing of Stainless Steel threaded pipeline systems.
• Raising the Requests for Inspection of Work (RFIW) of various systems and getting approval
from Client as per approved Inspection & Test Plan.
• Checking the installation of Fire Fighting Deluge Skids, Fire Water Rings and Foam Water
Rings on Crude Oil Storage Tanks.
• Prepared Project Turnover Packages in accordance with the documentation procedures
established by Client.
• Worked on the closing of comments raised in Punch List / Snag List and ensured that all
Punch List / Snag List Comments have been rectified in light of the Contract. Coordinated
with Construction Personnel to accordingly raise RFIW’s to close Punch List / Snag List
Items.
