Almana Healthcare is the largest private healthcare provider in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia. It has chain of hospitals in multiple cities across the eastern region, a medical equipment assembling factory, an educational institute and a trading division responsible for importing the medical equipment and selling it to the government and private healthcare facilities across the Saudi Arabia.
I joined Almana as a Financial consultant initially before I was offered a permanent position of group's Financial Analyst. My role focused on preparing the company for an IPO, conducting in-depth business & financial analysis, making the financial projections and value the company.
In addition, I was also responsible for conducting investment appraisal for proposed investments and divestitures. Hedging foreign exchange risks associated with International transactions using the derivatives.
I conducted fundamental analysis and technical market analysis to evaluate return and risk characteristics of publicly traded international financial futures contracts on a range of underlying instruments including developed market equity indices, treasury bonds, commodities and currencies. The results of the analyses were incorporated in formal research reports and short-term trading bulletins to the company's discretionary and non-discretionary trading desks.
Fundamental analysis was utilized to analyse the impact of macro and micro variables on risk and return characteristics of each asset class over the short-term and long-term. A range of econometric tools were applied to evaluate the impact of changes in macroeconomic conditions and underlying fundamental variables and the effect on correlations, market prices and risk variables due to constantly evolving market conditions.
Technical trading rules were scrutinized to conduct price cycle and sentiment analysis of each asset class under different market conditions. Primary technical tools utilised included Fibonacci analysis, Elliot Wave oscillators, Bollinger Bands, Pivot Points, RSI changes, Moving Averages, Regression Channels, Stochastic Oscillators and candlestick studies to calculate pertinent resistance and support levels over various time intervals for each individual asset class.
