Heidelberg Middle East is a Joint Venture (JV) of Juffali Brothers and Heidelberg AG. Heidelberg is world’s leading manufacturer of commercial printing machines. The JV carries out its business in the Middle East via its three subsidiaries (Saudi, Gulf and Iraq). My key roles are
o Financial reporting - Supervise monthly financial close of three group companies. Review financial results/KPIs and forward a detailed business and financial review to Board of Directors at every month-close.
o Lead ongoing ERP implementation
o Direct the activities of the finance and accounting personnel to ensure that company’s financial and other resources are managed according to professional standards and company’s approved policies.
o Handle insurance, audit, corporate and taxation matters.
o Authorized bank signatory of the Company.
o Spearhead Financial Planning & Controlling process including budgets, forecasts and strategic plans.
o Maintain healthy relationship with key finance personnel of JV partners.
As Credit & Commercial Controller, I was in-charge of leasing business of the Company.
I worked closely with sales team to strructure a financing transaction and have post transaction vigil to ensure lessee is complying with lease covenants.
I remained with Tax service of PwC Islamabad. I established tax practice of the firm in Afghanistan.
I also advised a portfolio of customers on local taxation statutes besides handling tax due diligence engagements.
Fatima Group is one of the leading industrial groups of Pakistan engaged in textile, sugar and fertilizer manufacturing. My last appointment was Chief Financial Officer of Reliance Weaving Mills Limited, a listed textile company engaged in spinning and weaving operations with annual sales turnover in excess of US$ 45 million. As CFO, I
o ensured faithful and timely financial reporting
o established good working relationship with the company’s bankers, auditors and tax authorities
o ensured working capital and long term capital requirements are met efficiently
o built a good finance team
I headed finance function of largest 'liquid bulk storage' of the country. My Company was largest exporter of molasses to countries of EU.
I handled all finance, corporate, treasury and taxation matters of the Company.
After two years in this position I was promoted to head finance function of the largest group Company (Reliance Weaving Mills Ltd).
As Manger for a portfolio of clients, I was entrusted with overall responsibility to conduct audit. This included planning, supervision of engagement teams and finalization of engagements with partner in-charge.
I also completed my four years training with EY, Lahore during that period I was seconded to EY, Jeddah for five months.
I joined Ernst & Young as a junior trainee and rose upto Audit senior over a training period of four years. Durng training period I acquired basic skills essential for a successful finance professional.
