Description: Current role involves end to end Data Center activities from requirement gathering, analysis, and Solution architecture, technical project planning, implementation and educating users to be able to understand the new environment.
Responsibilities:
Storage: EMC/Netapp/Dell
SAN implementation tasks like creating zones, LUN provisioning, BCV device creation Meta device creation and mapping. Creating NFS & CIFS shares.
Monitoring storage arrays and related systems on weekly basis.
Allocation of Storage to Servers for new projects & existing Production server (Windows, UNIX and Blade Frames)
Provisioning of SAN disk like creating Metas, Mapping & Masking & also reversal of all the steps
Allocation of Switch ports to the servers for the new SAN connectivity.
Tech refresh along with Data migration from current infra to new infra
Complete signoff from user after completion of Storage Implementation.
Backup: Dell/Veeam/Symantec/Arcserve
Installing backup clients, storage nodes on the servers, configure their schedules & policies.
Create groups for backup scheduling as per defined SOW.
Initiating initial backup and its consistency.
Scheduling environmental reports for backup environment according to the user environment.
Configuring DB backups using modules like NMSQL, NMM & NMDA.
Creating BMR disk for new installed environment/existing environment.
Performing NAS/SAN/Tape based backup depending upon user environment.
Complete signoff from user after completion of Storage Implementation.
Storage: VNX, Clarrion, Equallogic, Isilon, Netapp, IOmega
Performing Health check on Storage environment on Daily Basis
SAN implementation tasks like creating zones, LUN provisioning, BCV device creation Meta device creation and mapping.
Space reclaim on VNX and Dell Equallogic.
Monitoring storage arrays and related systems on weekly basis.
Allocation of Storage to Servers for new projects & existing Production server (Windows, UNIX and Blade Frames) from VNX, Clariion and Dell Equallogic
Provisioning of SAN disk like creating Metas, Mapping & Masking & also reversal of all the steps
Define & Update the Storage pools.
Troubleshooting the connectivity as well as masking issues.
Firmware upgrades on Dell and Iomega storage
Allocation of Switch ports to the servers for the new SAN connectivity.
Coordinating with different storage Vendors for Hardware replacement's & maintenance
Creating and providing access on NFS & CIFS shares
Backup: Legato EMC Networker: Version 7.6
Installing backup clients, storage nodes on the servers, configure their schedules & policies on the networker servers.
Troubleshooting on Backup failures escalated by monitoring teams.
Modify groups by adding / deleting clients as per request from the Server Admin.
Generating daily environmental reports of networker environment.
Configuring DB backups using modules like NMSQL, NMM & NMDA.
Monthly & Quarterly restoration activity.
Performing BMR for Windows 2008 Machines.
Performing SAN based backup for large Database.
