Maintenance Engineer
Logiwiz Limited (Logiwiz) is a subsidiary of Hayleys Advantis Limited, the transportation and logistics arm of the Hayleys Plc. Logiwiz has secured a premier position in the Sri Lanka as the leading 3rd Party Logistics Service Provider, dominating the market with a large portfolio of multinational and local clients. I have taken on the responsibility of maintenance engineer and I am reporting to the General Manger
Duties and Responsibilities
♦ Maintenance and up keep of facility infrastructure of 150, 000ft2 main Distribution Center and total of 750, 000 ft2 sub locations ( include buildings water supply and effluent treatment plants, electrical distribution systems, Air-conditioning and ventilation, racking systems, power generators, etc.)
♦ Servicing, trouble shooting, repair, maintenance of traction driven martial handling equipment fleet of Reach trucks, forklifts and other mechanical and electrical material handling equipment.
♦ Identifying and providing required training requirements of maintenance staff.
♦ Member of companies consultancy team in setting up of logistics infrastructure for own and for clients requirements.
♦ Designing of logistics related infrastructure (racking system layout and quantifying related equipment requirements) for company and for clients.
♦ Forecasting and preparation of budgets for the maintenance department and procurement.
• Trouble shooting, repair, maintenance of a fleet of 450 sewing machines of brands JUKI, Brother, DURKOPP ADLER, PFAFF, RIMOLDI etc.
• Trouble shooting, repair, maintenance of related machines and accessories for garment manufacturing such as Fusing machines, ironing and finishing equipment, air compressors, and dries, Automatic spreading and cutting machines( GERBER brand), steam boilers and steam distribution systems, compressed air distribution systems,
• All electrical and electronic repairs of control (control boxes) systems of sewing machines and garment manufacturing equipment. Repairing and maintenance of pneumatic control systems in machines.
• All electrical, mechanical, civil maintenance of buildings and plant infrastructure, Generator and central air-conditioning systems maintenance.
• Maintaining of spare parts stocks, attachments and needle stocks. Ordering them at the correct reorder level.
• Contract maintenance of outsourced contact of engineering services
• Coordinating staff training requirements.
.Pre and post tender evaluatins cf engineering contrcts and verfying quantities and, cost nd quality, time lines
• Do warranty repairs for the JUKI brand computer controlled industrial sewing machines in Sri Lanka market.
• Electronic repairs of control boxes of JUKI brand sewing machines.
• Promoting sales for new releases of the models by the mother company in Japan giving assistance to sales staff in technical aspects.
• Managing local workshop and repotted to the country manger.
• Control of spare parts stocks and report its reconciliations every month end to main office in Singapore.
• Giving training to factory staff on new machine models.
Assiting elctronic enginnner in installation of Jem cutting robots
Higher National Diploma in Engineering is a three yer and haf full time English medum course in electrical , mechanical, civill engineering fields.Curriculum of this course was designed according to the guidelines and directions by the Business and Technology Education Councilof United Kingdom( BETC, UK). Also this course consits of two inplant tranning sesions of three moths in each session through National Apperiantice and IndustrialTranning Authority ( NAITA) of Sri Lanka at end of 2nd and 3rd acedamic year
