I was a senior medical officer at the Pulmonology department of a big government hospital in Lahore. I got experience of dealing with large numbers and wide variety of pulmonology related patients. I had finished my training for becoming a specialist and was preparing for my exit exam at the time.
This is a five year post graduate training programme, with 2 years of internal medicine and 3 years of pulmonogy. A year long original research project is a compulsory part of this. There is a an entry and an exit exam involved. Degree of "Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in Pulmonogy" is awarded at the end .
