I was based in Beirut (Lebanon) as Regional Sales Manager for the GCC and ME Region with Aviat Networks (previously known as Harris Stratex Networks). Aviat Networks was previously one of the WIMAX Vendors that provides WIMAX Base Stations (BTS) and core network to operators.

Aviat Networks is well known in the market for their microwave PTP links. Aviat Networks has acquired Telsima since 2005 and started their WIMAX division. I promoted Aviat Networks WIMAX by establishing a good relationship with the WIMAX operators in the region and worked on accounts such as:
• New WIMAX operator’s deployment
• Operators who planned to expand their WIMAX Network
• Operators who planned to switch from WIMAX 16d to 16e deployment

Reason for leaving the job with Aviat Networks

The Company decided to change its product strategy to focus mainly on the Microwave PTP products instead of the WIMAX BTS business; therefore the company stopped supporting the development of their WIMAX R&D development and sold the subsidiary named Telsima. There was a mutual arrangement between the company and myself to stop promoting their WIMAX BTS in the region.

I was responsible for promoting and selling the following products and solutions to the operators:
- WIMAX CPE
 USB Dongle with Connection Manager
 Indoor/Outdoor CPE
- Connection Manager for Seamless Connectivity between 3G/WiFi/LAN/WIMAX
- Reporting and Monitoring Solutions for WIMAX CPEs (OTA Networking Management)

I worked directly on 10 major accounts (WIMAX Operators) in the GCC region including Iraq and Iran. I developed excellent knowledge of the Telecom market in the region and established very good personal relationship with their top management. I managed to sell WIMAX CPEs to operators in the region who were ready with their network deployments; customers are operators in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iran and North Iraq.

Reason for leaving the job with Green Packet Networks
I decided to pursue my career in the Telecom industry with companies that have larger portfolios such as 4G LTE and WIMAX BTS instead of WIMAX CPE and to move to home country after 10 years of living abroad.
