Manages Plant Operations to ensure continuous customer satisfaction, company’s profitability and growth, and employees’ motivation and development.
Oversees the optimization of system efficiency and assists in the creation of the needed infrastructure for manufacturing processes while maintaining quality at the outmost highest level and ensuring productivity and growth.
Managed the Production, Purchasing, Warehousing, and Maintenance departments thru KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives: Four department managers, three purchasing agents, seven supervisors, and ninety production associates. KPIs: OEE, On time Delivery, Stockouts, Inventories Turnover, Safety, Hygiene, Training, and Preventive Maintenance % on time.
Analyzed organization’s P&L and identified improvements to augment profitability. Created business plan and cascaded business plan objectives to various departments heads’ . Teamed up with Marketing and Technical Departments to ensure success of new product introductions.
Designed planned and executed a new factory in Mexico to manufacture welded steel structures for Caterpillar 300E excavator model. Project Budget: $50 Mil.
Specified and purchased equipment in support of welding and fabrication processes $8Mil: Lasers, press brakes, saws, VMC, welders, weld fixtures, positioners, spot welders.
• Conducted a Black Belt project to optimize up time on laser cutting machine: Bystronic 6KW. Machine uptime went to 95% from 67%. Main failure mode was misinstallation of the water cooling and filtration unit of the machine which caused laser lens overheating and poor quality laser cutting.
• Conducted black belt project to consolidate manufacturing orders to various machining work centers to reduce setup time and improve machine up time. Work centers include: Tsugami turning, Hass milling and turning, Makino milling, Bystronic laser cutting, Amada press brakes, Mazak mills, Accubore honning.
Managed team of one manufacturing manager, three manufacturing engineers, one facilities manager, two tool and die apprentices, and eighty three manufacturing associates.
Managed TS16949 audits, ISO 14000 audits and SQE audits. TS16949 certificate, ISO 14000 certificate, PPAP and SOP for five new products.
Contributed to design of various products in compliance with Advanced Product Quality Planning
Supervised three manufacturing areas consecutively $3.5M/year CTI cell, $8M/year bulk hose and braid department, $0.5M/year CNC/machining center
