As part of an undergraduate research initiative at the University of Birmingham Dubai, I am currently leading a project as Principal Investigator and Project Manager to develop and test bio-based microbial fuel cells (MFCs) using various citrus substrates. Our research explores the potential of organic waste—specifically limes, oranges, tangerines, mandarins, and lemons—as a sustainable source of bioelectricity.

The project involves designing, assembling, and testing five individual MFC units, each configured with different fruit-based substrates to analyse their electrochemical performance and long-term stability. I am responsible for the full experimental setup, including electrode selection, cell construction, and sensor integration using Arduino Uno. The real-time data acquisition system monitors critical parameters such as voltage, current, pH, temperature, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD).

My role includes data collection, calibration, circuit design, and research documentation. The aim is to evaluate how different fruit types impact power generation and wastewater treatment effectiveness in MFCs. This interdisciplinary project integrates elements of bioenergy, electrochemistry, environmental sustainability, and instrumentation. It has strengthened my skills in hands-on experimentation, embedded systems, and renewable energy research, while contributing to the development of low-cost, off-grid energy solutions using organic waste.

Over 3 years at UOBD, I worked on major projects including a final year project on DAC, combining CFD and experiments to optimise CO₂ removal using an air–solid contactor. I achieved the highest mark across both campuses for this project with a score of 86%. I also contributed to a group CFD project on the ONERA M6 airfoil, exploring aerodynamic improvements using bionic surface modifications. As an undergraduate research assistant, I was appointed Principal Investigator and Project Manager on a funded project to develop five microbial fuel cells using citrus-based substrates, with data collected via Arduino Uno sensors. I was also active in the Space Society, Mathematics Club, and Chess Club. I won the Math Olympiad and took part in many chess tournaments, quiz competitions, and a floating wind turbine design challenge. These experiences strengthened my skills in research, leadership, and teamwork, and deepened my interest in sustainable energy, aerodynamics, and applied physics.

Highest mark in CAIE AS level physics board exam 2019. Stood 2nd and 3rd place respectively in years 9 and 10 for the annual Science Exhibitions. Stood 1st place consecutively in years 10 and 11 for the maths week "Question of the Day" Challenge. Only student in my batch to study Further Mathematics. Further Maths was not offered by the school but as I am deeply passionate about mathematics, I self studied the subject on my own.
