I worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees ( UNHCR ) in the Aden Governorate office as Field Associate- Civil Engineer for
the following work:
A. Rehabilitate drinking water sources in the Al-Basateen area, Dar Saad District, Aden
Governorate. The project consists of drilling 3 artesian wells, 120 meters deep, with
establishment of control rooms. The operation will be carried out with generators and solar
energy as well, and the construction of a tower tank with a capacity of 1, 000 cubic meters,
30 meters high, and connection of These wells to that tower tank and the establishment of
water networks that feed water from the tank to the beneficiaries for diameters starting from
8 inches to 0.5 inches until it is connected to homes. The total length of the lines that were
implemented is 41 thousand linear meters.
B. Upgrade a main sewage network made of pottery, 500 mm in diameter and 700 mm in
diameter, with a length of 8 km, and constructing sub-pipe networks (plastic pipes, 320 mm
in diameter and 250 mm in diameter, 12 km in length).
C. Construct two tower tanks with a capacity of 100 cubic meters and a capacity of 75 cubic
meters to serve the refugees in Kharaz, along with development work for water networks
from wells to those tanks.
D. Supervising the rehabilitation project of war-damaged homes in Aden Governorate and Taiz
Governorate for 3, 000 houses.
