Responsibilities -
• Product Lifecycle - Manage entire retail product lifecycle which starts from selection of assortment, identification or introduction of newer lines, purchase, placement, throughput & liquidation
• Buying -
o Undergo fundamental negotiation with the vendors on promotional plan & rebates; Impact - higher organisational profits & sale
o Provisioning backend supports for the month
• Pricing & promotion -
o Ensure fair, competitive pricing & devise promotional strategies to drive profitable business with sustainable growth
o Browse competition regularly & propose assortment/price tweaking’s whenever required
• Review & forecast -
o Analyse effectiveness of promotions
o Forecast, monitor, report & gauge internal & external factors influencing business
o Develop business plan, review performance, maximise sales & profitability for the category, devise regional dominance plan whenever required to gain market share
o Review sales (weekly/monthly) & inventory trends across multiple levels & provide insights and recommendations to the higher ups
o Planning forward cover (stocks) to reduce opportunity loss, ensure stocks are in place to serve the demand & to propel it further safeguarding working capital requirements (Open To Buy)
o Keep a check on the outflows (in terms of promo cost/cost of customer acquisition etc.) to ensure monthly margin targets are met
o Plan effective & timely End of Line strategy to drive liquidation at controlled outflow
o Visit store/customers to gain insights, review opportunities to expand business horizons
• Merchandising -
o Deliver best in the industry consumer experience
o Drive & re-calibrate merchandising elements like planogram, visual merchandising, experience zones wherever required to educate, navigate, sell / upsell - customer first approach & to deliver uniform consumer experience across stores
o Provide Omni channel (Ecommerce, Cash & Carry, B2B) assortment suggestions & support operational issues
o Liaise with Marketing team on roll out of - ATL/ BTL activities, VM or promotional activities
• Key account manager for Skechers & Clarks UK (renowned global footwear brands)
• Propose costing for a facility & regulate P&L a/c
• Rendering transparency to the customer(Big Bazaar) with movement of stock at various levels like acquiring procurement visibility, processing, issuance tracking, expediting and receipt at store with assimilation of SAP & WMS (Infor)
• Eliminating/monitoring spikes in supply chain performance parameters
• Assist the higher ups in implementing new processes/projects
• Maximize order fill rates & synchronizing supply with demand by ensuring timely dispatches from warehouse
• Handling:
o Stock in transit management & closure, stock cover analysis
o Partial or incomplete UOM reduction to reduce inventory ageing
o Goods receipt and issuance of stock
o Logistics and Inventory regulation
• Manage vendor relationship & discrepancy resolution across the chain
• Drafting MIS reports to monitor warehouse performance (warehouse scorecard), ensure pre-defined SLA`s are met & induce positive outcome
• Undertake warehouse liquidation as & when
• Monitor inventory behaviour & maintain inventory hygiene
