- Supervising & monitoring LRDP Projects as Traffic Engineer for specialist inputs into traffic management & road safety elements for various LRDP projects & road improvements projects
- Covering all Doha West projects under ITAL such as DW80, DW83, Umm Al Dome, DW002-P2 & DW002-P3, A Ring Road & B Ring Road
- Reviewing and approving contractor's detailed Traffic Management Plans and traffic diversions / TDP during construction as per WZTMG 2015.
- Monitor compliance to WZTMG & HSE by the contractors and issue NCR's if required
- Administer & Monitor the RSA process for the project
- Working on DN-116-P01 & P02, Al Shamal (QN-01) LRDP project as Traffic Manager for BOTC
- Responsible for planning, design, execution & maintenance of traffic management schemes for both projects. Project include more than 192 Micro Tunneling Shafts & 2000 manholes.
- Liaising with stakeholders, client authorities like Ashghal & MOI.
- Leading & managing team of traffic operatives to deliver the traffic mgmt. schemes safely onsite.
- Carrying out internal TM audits to review & assess the ongoing TM schemes and continuously improve road safety onsite.
- Carry out & obtain necessary Authority approvals to implement TM schemes as per WZTMG
• Oversaw 3 major highway projects P-10, P-11 and P-15 Expressways under Group-1 contracts from Feb 14-May 2015. Currently covering only P-10/11 i.e. East -West Corridor.
• Manage all traffic . road safety infrastructure works like Chain Link Fence, Decorative Fence, Bollards, Steel Barriers/VRS, Concrete Barriers, and Standard & ITS Traffic Signs & Directional Signs, Road Marking etc. including handling material submissions, review, liaison with Ashghal for approvals, plan approvals, Doha municipality approvals, Arabic Names Committee approvals.
• Reviewing and approving contractor's detailed Traffic Management Plans and TDPs during construction as per WZTMG 2015.
• Guide & review Contractor’s Construction Traffic Management plans for the highway construction site including all haul routes, construction access/egress, and internal layouts to provide safe traffic movement within construction area complementing the HSE objectives.
• Monitor compliance to WZTMG & HSE by the contractors and issue NCR's if required.
• Conduct & Coordinate Road safety audits / Work Zone Audits for the temporary traffic diversions.
• Supervise mgmt./ maintenance of all temp. traffic diversions in a safe condition for the road users.
• Monitor all temporary road networks on the construction site to ensure safe use. Including intersections, speed limits, visibility, signage, etc.
• Stakeholder management for all traffic management activities
• Change Management in project drawings initiated by the designer/client.
Working on Qatar’s ambitious infrastructure project framework towards FIFA 2022. The role covers strategic traffic management solutions & conflict management / interface resolution for various infrastructure activities including Qatar Rail & Ashghal’s highway programmes.
• Provide technical inputs to various Traffic Engineering / Traffic Management related work tasks.
• Liaise with key stakeholders like Ashghal, Qatar Rail on various issues.
• Contribute to Keeping Doha Moving objectives at strategic level.
• Prepare letters, meeting notes, presentations, papers, technical notes, reports and drawings/plans relating to the assigned Traffic Engineering work task.
• Contribute to Traffic Engineering deliverables relating to the work tasks and submit them to the Traffic Engineering Team Leader for further action towards formal issue.
• To assist in preparing Task Orders related to CPO’s Traffic Engineering work.
• Awareness of Ashghal Work Zone Traffic Management Guide (WZTMG) + TDP process and study/review various traffic management drawings / road safety audit reports submitted by stakeholders wrt. WZTMG.
• To participate in the TTMWG meetings with external organisations / stakeholders along with Head of Traffic Engineering team and attend internal meetings within CPO.
Traffic engineering & road safety support in the Department of Transport (DoT), Abu Dhabi’s Strategic Road maintenance program for Al Ain region covering 1200 Kms. of highways. Responsible for safe road Operation & Maintenance of road network under Al Ain jurisdiction.
To prepare & approve the Work Zones / Traffic Detours / Temporary Traffic Management Plans submitted by the contractor in co-ordination with Traffic Police to ensure safe Work Zones & Construction activities on highways. Also to monitor the satisfactory implementation of the approved detour plans on site by the contractors.
Co-ordinate with Traffic Police to ensure safe traffic movement & operation on the highways
Carrying out Traffic studies & investigations to identify network defects in the areas of traffic operations & management, safety, pedestrians, connectivity to local communities etc.
Carried out various traffic engineering & safety improvements on Al Ain strategic roads worth Dhs. 20 million in last one year & works worth Dhs. 10 million in progress for the current F.Y. 2011-2012 & planned for upcoming works amounting to Dhs. 42 million.
Carrying out necessary Traffic Impact Studies for new junction improvement schemes, network additions, capacity analysis for various road improvement schemes
Overall improvement in Traffic Control Devices (Traffic Signs, Road Markings, Cats eyes, Delineators etc.) to improve & enhance safety of road users
Identify & make roads safe for pedestrian movements by maintenance and/or creation of new pedestrian facilities.
Assist the DoT engineers & carry out Road Safety Audits for the existing network to identify the defects / short-comings in existing road safety & suggest improvements & carry out the same.
Carry out the Asset Management tasks required by the DOT like carry out various surveys & inventories for the road network like pavement studies, traffic control devices inventory, KPI management
