• Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, adjustments, and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls, including documenting and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Support internal and external audit processes, including providing documentation, explanations, and reconciliations for audit inquiries.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, disposal, and revaluation information.
• Perform periodic physical verification and reconciliation of fixed assets to ensure accuracy and completeness of the asset register.
• Calculate and record monthly depreciation expense for fixed assets in accordance with the applicable accounting standards.
• Prepare and analyze fixed asset reports, including schedules, reconciliations, and variance analysis, to support financial reporting and decision-making processes.
• Ensure internal controls related to fixed assets, including documenting policies and procedures, and participating in internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with the procurement and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of fixed asset acquisitions, retirements, and disposals, including proper coding and documentation.

• Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries.
• Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances.
• Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
• Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
• Disburses petty cash by recording entry, verifying documentation.

• Assist the Finance Manager with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting/ Finance Department.
• Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Finance policies and procedure.
• Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance, and interim grant financial reporting.
• Calculating and submitting VAT returns.
