My duties included the following: Receive purchase requisition from various departments of the Group Selection of vendors, preparation and floating of RFQ (Request for Quotation) to appropriate vendors. Group has 700 active vendors both local and overseas Discussing with Engineering & Technical department for the technical clarification. Quotation analysis and comparison of offers. Preparation of comparison statements. Price negotiation with the vendors and finalize the vendor in consideration with the price, quality and delivery time of the items / services. Getting the correct approval for the required materials from appropriate Class societies, such as: DNV, Bureau Veritas, ABS, LRS, and many more, in association with QC Department. Obtaining approval from the top management Preparation of purchase orders Follow - up and expedition of ordered items Punctually following the timeframe given by project team. Co-ordination with warehouse and vendors for the delivery, material returns etc. Obtaining the best price available, with favorable payment terms. Training new purchasers, and getting them acquainted with the company’s rules and regulations, and also training them to follow the procedures set in the company’s Procedure Handbook. Developing a list of Approved Suppliers, with help from the Purchase Manager. And developing a procedure whereby new suppliers are vetted to be included in the Approved List.
