• Fully in charge of port with work force of 250 people and total berth line of 600 m. This is including projects, operations, maintenance and services.
• Oversee all necessary safety, security, technical and logistical requirements for general cargo vessels, Ro-Ro, barges, tankers, tugs and ferries with length up to 110 m.
• Make sure that company Safety Management System is being applied in the perimeter of Port operations
• Responsible to implement applicable national and international laws and regulations and to manage traffic of all vessels visiting the Port.
• Being a head of logistic team ensure port traffic goes smooth and without operational delays.
• Port budget management including financial planning for departmental needs and financial monitoring for expenditures.
• Arrange proper services and maintenance in cost effective manner.
• Experienced in carrying out investigations on marine, operational safety and security related issues.
• Carry out vessel’s inspections checking compliance with International and national rules and requirements, making sure that crew on board is qualified and skilled, equipment is operational and maintained well.
• Coordinate and cooperate with Marine authorities, Coastguard, and other maritime related services in the port
• Liaise with Clients on contract follow up and requirements. Ensuring that contractual conditions are being respected.
• Experienced in managing multiple fast-paced projects.
Achievements:
• Developed Marine Safety Operating procedures for the area of work.
• Established and structured maintenance schedule for area of responsibility.
• Improved safety of navigation in the harbor by installing aids to navigation such as breakwater lights and fog signals.
• Finalized the manning needs of the department and obtained requisite approvals.
• Organized seabed surveys to remove obstructions in the harbors and created harbor depth plan.
