Project Description:
Marmaray is a rail transport project in Istanbul/Turkey. It comprises undersea rail tunnel under the Bosporus Strait (Bosporus Crossing) and modernization of existing suburban railway lines along to Sea of Marmara from European side to Asian Side (Cross Railway). Total contract value is approx. 4.5 billion dollar.

Responsible for;

• Construction of dry dock for immersed tunnel element construction.
• Construction of slipway at Tuzla DLH shipyard.
• Towing and immersion of tunnel elements (11 pcs. 135 meter each length)
• Procurement responsible of all backfilling, gravel foundation and compaction grouting works.
• Procurement, RFQ, RFP and contract preparation of 3.000.000 m3 backflling and gravel foundation material for construction of Marmaray immersed tunnel infrastructure.
• Procurement, RFQ, RFP, PO and contract preparation of 40.000 tons cement and aggregate in order to build compaction grouting material for treatment of Marmaray immersed tunnel ground basement.
• Procurement, RFQ, RFP, PO and contract preparation of various 35.000 tons processed steel for construction of Marmaray immersed tunnel.

• Controlling of the subcontractor (Kanmon Cowan) 1.000.000m3 contaminated and uncontaminated dredging work under Bosphorus Strait with 27, 5 m3 clamshell which is closed type for enviromental dredging, and -60m depth. Ensuring the quality of disposal of dredged material.
• Managing of the subcontractor (Sanshin Corporation) for CPG (Compacted Pressure Grouting Work ) for soil improvement under the concrete immersed tube elements for preventing the liquefaction from the crane barge equipped 8 anchors with 100 ton crawler crane from the 16 drilling holes same time.
• Managing of gravel bedding & grading, backfilling of the necessary stones under sea with tremie pipe installed dumping barge. Grading is performed by SUG (underwater grader) which is controlled from the crane barge. Subcontractor for the grading work is Ocean Works Asia (Japan).
• Responsible engineer of Armarin-3 marine working barge. Preparing of related anchor plans and positioning drawings of Armarin-3 at the Bosporus Strait. Drawing of Auto-Cad facilities of marine work and calculating of all necessary amounts and volumes of backfilling and gravel foundation works.
• Arranging of material supply for backfilling, gravel foundation works. Preparing and planning of all future backfilling, gravel foundation and compaction grouting schedules.
• Preparing of all necessary quality control documents regarding to Marine Works of Marmaray Project.
