Harman International is a product and software services company, the flagship products/brands are JBL,
Harman Kardon and Bang & Olufsen etc. Harman International had been now acquired by SAMSUNG.
At Harman I was involved in customer interactions, understanding the requirements, documenting, creating
information architecture, Identify the personas, follow UCD methodology and designing wireframes/prototypes
by using tools like pen & paper, Axure, UXPIN, Photoshop etc. Do tons of Usability testing and iterations unless
we find something which we believe is going to change something in this world for good.
In Harman I got a chance to lead 2 design teams (for 2 long term projects) apart from other projects (5+
members team in UX, UI and FED ). Apart from getting chance to travel to Midwest US at client location I was
responsible for team mentoring, management, collaboration and sync-up from off-shore.
We were focused to identify the user problems and come up with measurable solutions.
At Harman I was also involved in Business development and pre-sales activities.
Aditi Technologies is a software services company specializes in Design, Engineering and cloud services. Aditi
had been later acquired by STC, then by HARMAN and now part of SAMSUNG.
At Aditi I was part of Aditi Design studio called as Litehouse which is providing design resources and services
across the verticals.
At Aditi I was involved in Customer Interaction, Requirements gathering and understanding, UX Research,
UX Design, UI Design, Usability testing, HTML/CSS Development and Team Management - in other words
touched every bit of design.
Snowflakes Software Solutions (SSS) is a small in-house funded startup based in Riyadh. SSS's flagship
product is EZKSA which is a information portal for Saudi Arabia covering information about Govt. offices,
Business Directory, Individual Listing, Commercial Listing, Maps, Charity and Donations module are few
among the many.
At SSS I was working as UX, UI designer and later I started learning Front end technologies. I then gradually
moved to full scale designer starting from requirements gathering, feedback, prototypes/wireframing, Visual
design and then convert visual layouts into HTML and CSS. It was an amazing place to be to learn and apply
across the sections, know the best practices, uncover the possibilities, understand what is working in and out.
Working in small startups exposes you to many difficulties but at the same time teaches you something which
even top notch Universities won't be able to teach you.
DZ International is a small in-house funded startup which deals in both software services and product
development. DZ's flagship products were eNewspaper, eMagazine & News portal with advance CMS. In
services sector DZ has served number of high end customers ranging from political parties to star hotels and
hospitality.
At DZ I was working on UX, UI designer and also I was involved in marketing and business development
activities. I remember that time UX and UI per say was not that much advance, professionals were simply called
as Web Designers having skills with Visual design and Front end Development but I remember I was starting
any project with customer meetings, requirements gathering / feedback, sitemap creation, paper wireframes,
visual design and then Front End development. Because I felt with in me that it was the right approach to
start designing.
At DZ I almost touched every bit of product design, development and marketing - that is the beauty of working
in small teams.
