Key Responsibility Areas:
To comply with the safety law, norms and standards, work permit system safe work procedure.
Conduct toolbox meeting.
To coordinate and motivate the safety educational and training programmer among workers.
Organizing/attending health and safety meetings.
To identify hazardous task and process as well as hazardous zones in the worker place with suitable demarcation of such zones.
Ensuring the safe installation of equipment & managing and organizing the safe disposal of hazardous substances.
To ensure that personal protective equipment’s are in working condition and being used by workers in hazardous situations.
Planning safe working practices and making necessary changes.
To formulate and select suitable remedial and corrective measure in order to contain or minimize unsafe procedure and practice and hazards of various and hazards of various nature.
To inspect firefighting equipment’s and to see that they are in working condition.
To arrange mock fire -fighting drills from time to time in addition to fire protection surveys.
Checking of PPE such as safety shoes, safety helmet, goggles, hand gloves, safety harness.
Welding - Inspection of tools and equipment used in welding process check for adequate ventilation or exhaust fans for extraction of fumes.
Radiography Coordinating with personnel involved in radiography.
Housekeeping Check all stairways, passageways and gangways kept free from materials and obstruction of any kind should be removed.
