Expansion of Velana International Airport (EPC-Turnkey) Project Male'-Maldives
Project Description
The scope includes the demolition of an existing terminal pier, as well as the engineering, procurement, logistics, and construction of the new Passenger Terminal Building, Central Utility Complex, landside roadways, and landscaping with a 78, 000 m2 total built-up area and a value of 540 million US Dollars.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Planning, managing, and coordinating construction activities and progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. Responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of site activities.
• Representing the company on site and liaising/interacting with the employer, employer representative, and subcontractors ensure that all reasonable requests are met. As well as attend regular meetings with the Employer's Representative and Subcontractors.
• Determining the construction methodology and needed resources (manpower, equipment, plants, and materials) based on an understanding, analysis, and interpretation of plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Acquiring resources (manpower, equipment, and materials), estimating execution costs, developing a cost plan for site activities, and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.
• Support the subcontractors and vendors by removing impediments to their work, helping them to develop their schedules and work sequence, and assuring they obtain the materials, engineering deliverables, tools, and resources they need to complete their tasks within the deadlines.
• collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
• Report project progress and status to management on a regular basis.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
• Ensuring adherence to safety plans and regulations, maintaining a safe working environment, and checking potential safety hazards.
1- Section Head Engineer for finishing and completion works for Viaduct, East and West Par concrete bridges and interchanges
2- Section head Engineer for arrival roads and taxi way below viaduct.
3- Head of project steel and carpentry workshop
4- Senior Civil Engineer for Utility manholes and Duct Banks at Load Center C
5- Senior Civil Engineer for 32, 000 m3 water tanks and pump station at Load Center C
6- Senior Civil Engineer for East Par concrete bridges and interchanges (zone 2)
• Reporting to Project Manager.
• In charge of the day to day management and overseeing of the construction process.
• Lead site construction team at site.
• Prepare all required shop-drawings, BBS, time schedule, corresponding letters…etc).
• Maintain and controlling quality strategies and quality management system insuring that as per expectation.
• Manage all costs and quantities relating to the civil & architectural works including invoices |calculating subcontract payments and material quantities.
• Prepare relevant project status reports, progress report, and cash flow.
• Order materials and equipments in accordance with site progress.
• Observing safety relevant.
• Following concerned authorities for handing over.
• Reporting to Resident Engineer.
• Inspect civil and architectural work.
• Coordinate between Civil, Architectural, and MEP works.
• Review shop drawings, materials, payments, and method statements as per the contract document for approval with the help of the Resident Engineer.
• Attend meetings with the main contractor, Sub-contractors, Client Representative, and the End User.
• Prepare site monthly reports and minutes of meetings.
