Translate all types of ducuments and materials from Arabic to English and vice versa. Provide commercial, legal, financial reports and statements and technical translations in support of business operations for Zain Group across ME Region, including, contracts, governmental documents, public relations, media and press releases.I was in charge of a ducmentation system where all company incoming/outgoing documents were kept in the form of scanned copies.
1990 to June 2007
* Headed the Translation Section containing 6 translators for 8 years during the peak of business in a multinational company and participated in translation of a US$4 Billion contract. In this capacity I performed the following tasks:
* Perform all Arabic/English translation functions for the MEA region covering KSA, UAE, Iraq and Egypt.
* Translation tasks include all incoming Arab/Eng correspondence from customers list covering governmental, military and private sector.
* The translation covers a wide range of diversified materials that extend from highly technical law suit cases, supply and public works contracts, terms and conditions, media and press releases, bank statements, litigation, bids & proposals, daily business matters and communications with customers and in-office admin requirements and transactions.
• Took full responsibility for accuracy and quality of translations. Managed checking system so that all translations to Lucent customers have review and quality check before release.
• Managed glossary of technical and contract terms and common phrases and is responsible for continual updates.
• Provided Arabic translation services to Lucent entities outside UAE as requested.
• Acted as an interpreter for Executive Management when required.
• Acted as translator for high confidential documents.
From 1984 to Jan. 1990
I worked for US/Saudi Arabian Joint Economic Commission, I did the following:
Translated different types of contracts (Eng., Const. and O&M), correspondence and technical specs and policy, work procedures developed by American Advisors. Provided advice to US staff about life and customs in KSA.
Sept. 1980 to April 83
worked for Vinnel (A US firm -SANG Modernization Prog)
translated military related documents, manuals, catalogs, charts..etc. Edited other translated texts for accuracy, consistency of terminology, and conformance with standard format. Supervised the performance of other translators.
The United States of America and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Joint Commission was a strategic partnership that supported the economic and business interests of both nations and fostered cooperation on initiatives of global economic importance.
Accomplishments:
• Translated contracts, correspondence, policy, procedures, and technical specifications from English to Arabic in support of the American advisors to the KSA government.
• Provided local acculturation training and advice of appropriate protocol.
Vinnell Corporation, currently part of the Northrop Gumman Group, provided contract support to the Saudi National Guard.
Accomplishments:
• Translated military documents, manuals, charts and catalogs, and edit various texts.
• Supervised translators in the Saudi Arabian National Guard Modernization Program
