SPIMACO is a Saudi joint stock company with a paid-up capital of 1.2 Billion Saudi riyals and has ownership of companies operating inside and outside the kingdom. The company is operating in the region for over 3 decades and engaged in the production high quality drugs and marketing & sales of pharma products.
I was hired at manufacturing plant based in Qassim-KSA. This is largest and most automated pharmaceutical products manufacturing plant of the region (GCC). Within three years I was promoted as the head of the Finance department.
I was fully responsible of financial accounting, product costing, product profitability, budgeting, controlling, reporting, financial analysis and evaluation of the financial proposals submitted by the licensors / customers, inventory valuation, internal controls, process improvements and any analysis required by top management.
Part of SAP implementation/upgrades and BCS (Budget Control System) team.
Resulting restructuring of the company I was transferred in August 2020 to head office as Senior Accounting Manager. Responsible for Financial Accounting, General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets monthly, quarterly and annual closing submitting information to auditors, Zakat and Tax authorities.
Major achievements:
Managed Finance department team to deliver professional financial services at largest manufacturing plant of the region (GCC). Reduced Cost of Sales and revised plant capacity to get improved product standard cost. Design, implement and managed capitalization of product development cost of R&D department. Introduced costing methodology for new biotech products. Assist business development departments for preparing financial feasibilities for new products/contracts and new production facility.
Presented to Sr Management business model wise profitability analysis to set company strategy.
Responsibilities broadly included Trial balance, General ledger, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Intercompany ac, Taxation and Corporate Affairs. I was Part of implementation team of new ERP and team leader of new payroll software
External Audit:
My association with Chartered Accountant Firm ( A F Ferguson & Co a member of PWC- Big 4) has given me the exposure to work with many industries in different sectors of the economy such as manufacturing, FMCG, trading, Oil exploration and refinery, service industry, school etc.
Tax Consultancy:
Served as senior in tax consultancy department of A F. Ferguson & Co. Prepared tax returns, attended tax hearings, drafted appeals arguments and communicated with clients
Chartered Accountant - Intermediate and clear Accounting and Audit of Final Stage also.
